Happy Friday! After 2 days not being able to make it it, I sure did try to make up for it. The GREAT news is that the Vanderhoef Household on Weigh In Friday is down a total of 23.4lbs. Ruger is officially 100lbs again and he looks AMAZING! (No more Chunky Monkey nickname) And I’m down 13.4lbs in 3 weeks. Just need to hit 1.6 more lbs to hit my 15lb goal by Tuesday! I see so many women come together to degrade their own body. So, yesterday was my second rest day this week. Thursday and Saturday rotate. I did go to the gym Wednesday though, my phone just died so I didn't get pictures at the gym, but here is a screenshot of my FitBit activity from my Wednesday workout. Also, the second picture happened yesterday. I lost a lot of water weight overnight and dropped down to 239.6 lbs. I'm hecka excited. It's the first time I've been that low since before Halloween. I'm trying to be more patient with my weight loss, but it's hard some days. I know I've got this though. I'm only eight pounds away from a 20 pounds weight loss. I'm so excited by that. I'm hoping sometime in February I'll be out of the 230s. I do expect a plateau sometime around 220 lbs as well. In 2018 when I did keto as prescribed by my GP I plateaued at 220 lbs for like two months. I'm more prepared for that to happen this time since I know it happened around there last time. Going back to the gym today. 𝙏𝙂𝙄𝙁⠀🍻🥂⠀ ⠀ #keto day 24⠀ ⠀ #weightloss 3.5 kg (7.7 lbs) and #bodyfatloss 3 percentage points. However I reduced my caloric intake by 300 kcal to 1300 kcal/day. It seems a bit low, but my exercise routine and my current mileage allow for a lower caloric intake for a couple of weeks. Still in #ketosis however not at peak level since I increased my carb intake to 50 grams (1.7 oz) per day a week ago. ⠀ ⠀ I baked keto #cheesebuns today. They are sooo #yummy and #fluffy. Only 123 calories per bun, 13.6 grams of protein and only 1.7 grams of carbs. I think I have a new favorite. And they are easy to make. ⠀ ⠀ Tomorrow is #parkrun at @neckaruferparkrunesslingen and I’m already looking forward to it. If you’ve been following me for a while or you’ve had a look through my account, you might have seen the first f2f pic.. but if not, here goes- The first picture was taken 2015, it’s a group picture that we were recreating after 6 years.. but that picture made me want to change! I hate that picture, but yet I have printed and stuck to my wall in the kitchen 😂 I then tried healthy eating and exercise. I lost about 1.5stone myself before starting Slimming world. I joined SW in 2017. The right pic was June 2017, 6mths after I started, weighing 2 stone less!! No where near target, but I was happy! I had gained some confidence that summer, Sept came and I was able to wear a fab dress for Ladies Day at the races- (thanks to the fab @its_simply_fiona who helped me pick out the perfect one from her old shop!💕) Most of you know the story, I just yo-yo’d for months after, I couldn’t get my mojo back! So I stopped. I didn’t see the inside of a SW class at all in 2019. But on over 2stone in that one goddam year! Christmas just gone I was so mad at myself! So the 3rd is right now! I keep seeing people say “Take Pictures!!”, so here’s my January picture!! So your reading this, Take a pic, save it in a folder in your phone or post it for motivation! Going to talk a quick moment about coffee. It is very difficult to say that I have not had any besides the shots of espresso I added to my morning milk/shake servings over the weekend. . I love coffee. I really would like to transition to drinking it black, but between sweetening it and the more-than-I-should-drink amount of milk in each day, they would add up calories pretty quickly. . My favorite coffee drink uses .5c condensed milk, which is very very sweet and I'd have that maybe once every other week. Examining the nutrition info, the calories are roughly 500. The fat content is 13.5 (sat: 8.5g), carbs 83g (all sugar), and protein 12g. Yikes. . I don't like soda, so drinks like these were my soda. I could definitely have a daily mocha latte at 360 cal, 15g fat (9g sat), 44g carbs (35 from sugar), and 13g protein. In addition to higher caloric dinners, it's no wonder I've stayed at this higher weight.

Honesty is a bitter pill 💊. But yet, people would much rather decide to be afflicted with the disease brought on by human existence. They would rather not take the medicine 😷necessary to deal with it in a constructive manner. ⠀ Society is consciously architected in a way that’s geared toward profiting from emotional swings. They accomplish this by triggering the most superficial of our emotions in order to create non-existent problems so that they can sell us phony, ineffective solutions. ⠀ But rather than chase fleeting values, like pleasure, validation, feigned positivity, and the like, we should be pursuing the internal pursuit of discovering our life’s existential fulfillment. ⠀ Only then, do we accomplish becoming the solid emotional rock amidst a turbulent ocean of other toxic waves, waiting to crash us into shore, attempting to wither us down to bare nothing.

Hey. . 1) I’m not saying peanuts are bad or unhealthy or shouldn’t be eaten. . I’m saying, per calorie, they do not have much protein. . So if you’re eating peanuts with the goal of radically increasing your protein intake...you’d be better off with another source of protein (meat, fish, yogurt, tofu, etc). . 2) White rice isn’t bad for you. The dementors and death eaters and goblins and flesh eating slugs will want to kill me for saying this. But it’s true. . 3) Some people gain weight when they’re chronically stressed and cortisol is high. . Other people lose weight when they’re chronically stressed and cortisol is high. . Why is that? . Because some people respond to stress by eating too much. . And others respond to stress by eating next to nothing. . Stress and cortisol are not responsible for weight gain. . SALTED ALMOND BUTTER CARAMEL PROTEIN CUPS It’s national peanut butter day so it’s only fair I share a nut butter ripper 😍 Simple & only 3 steps at 119 calories 😍! I love them straight out of the freezer 😍 this one was made to fit in my macros and plan in the yummiest way, but by all means adjust them to you, so more choc , less choc, more almond butter or a different nut butter , less protein more protein, this is just a base from what I have created for me and my plan but you do you 🥰They go down a treat! 💁🏻‍♀️hehe INGREDIENTS CHOC TOP & BOTTOM: •80-140g chocolate * (see notes) •1tsp coconut oil CARAMEL: •25g of almond butter (or as much as you want) •3tbs of @natvialiving caramel sauce (or maple syrup) •10g natvia/ sweetener •40-45ml vanilla unsweetened almond milk •1/2 tsp vanilla •pinch of salt •1 scoop 40g of vanilla/ caramel protein (I use @macr0mike vanilla protein or salted caramel Pb+(alternatively more nut butter) METHOD : First melt your choc with oil. Use 65% of your choc fill 1-2 tbs in each cup cake case mould (I use 6 silicone moulds) place in the fridge to set. Make the caramel by whisking almond butter with your caramel or maple , almond milk, vanilla and salt. Once smooth stir in your protein with a spoon till you have a thick caramel. Spoon equally to each cup making a Smooth surface. Spoon on remaining choc to the centre of the caramel and push it to just before the edge. Freeze for 1 hr and pop out to have straight away. Keep in the fridge for a goey cup, or freezer for a chewy hard cup (my fav). Notes* amount of choc depends on how much you want to use, 80g is the minimum to cover the cups & keep the calories lower, if you want a thicker chocolate use more :)

Helloooo and good morning to me and you! ✨ Woke up needing all sorts of inspiration today, because having been on both sides of the weight battle (left and right) I’m floating somewhere in the middle at the moment. Yep, I don’t fit into that kurta on the right any more, and I’m far away from my goals. Like 10 kgs far. Like cholesterol and fat % (actual health indicators) need to be better, far. But, I keep remembering the girl on the left who had no idea what she could, and would do. If I could start at 0 and get to where I did, I can do it again. And so can you, whatever your goals are. Anything you set your mind to, you can do. So get out there and smash your goals, I say! 🤩

These past few weeks have been rough for me. I’m emotionally drained. I haven’t been to the gym all week and I can’t seem to gain enough energy. I’ve been questioning my career, choices I’ve made and everything else lately. One thing I’ve noticed is before surgery whenever I was stressed - food was my comfort. I have not turned to food once and for me that’s a huge non-scale victory. Figuring out different ways to cope with stress has been difficult and has cost me a lot of money (I like to shop when I’m stressed now) 😂 but I’ve grown so much and I’m proud 💕 I say it over and over again I wouldn’t change a thing about this journey - take the risk!

Do you find yourself constantly pre-occupied with thoughts of food? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧐Maybe you just had breakfast but you're counting down until lunch time. 😏Maybe you're physically hungry but you try to put off eating for fear that if you eat now, you're still going to be hungry later. 😭Maybe you scroll through pictures of food that are "off-limits", dreaming about your "cheat day" when you'll allow yourself to eat it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ These are just a few examples of what may happen when you consistently under-eat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When I start working with a new client, they're surprised at how many questions I ask them about their hunger levels and cravings. I have them pay attention to what part of the day they're most hungry, when they're experiencing cravings, what kind of cravings they're having, etc. This is usually how the conversation goes: --- Me: So you find that you always graze after lunch? Client: Yes, something's wrong with me! I could've just had lunch but I'm always looking for something else. Me: Let's take a look at your food journal...Maybe you're not eating enough at lunch. Client: No, I am. 𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘺. --- "𝘐 𝘴𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥𝘯'𝘵 𝘣𝘦 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘳𝘺" ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Guess what? .... If you're eating in a huge deficit.... you 𝙨𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 be hungry. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It means your body's protecting you... and it means you should eat. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ How do you know if the hunger is physical or emotional? A good place to start is to take a look at your meals. Are they balanced? Do they include protein, carb and fat in adequate amounts for YOUR body? If not, it's probably physical hunger. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ If you're scared to add more food, I challenge you to explore why. Food and fear don't belong together.
