"There is no such thing as "self-made". We are made up of thousands of others. Everyone who has ever done a kind deed for us, or spoken one word of encouragement to us, has entered into the make-up of our character and of our thoughts, as well as our success."
This weeks blogpost talks about turning negative situations into positive opportunities. Life is a springboard, we use everything that is thrown at us to bounce off of and gain momentum to create new opportunity. ***Link in profile page***

While living in Costa Rica I also had a little place in Gigante, Nicaragua. I would work for a couple of weeks diving in Costa Rica and then head back to this little house that I was renting at the top of a hill in a small surfing/fishing village. Either side of the hill that you would walk down would land you on two different beach breaks.
Nicaragua has some of the most consistent waves in the world. A go to destination if you already surf or if you are just starting out.
Example of a complete malnourishment picture. I moved to Costa Rica to learn about working on organic farms, learn Spanish and start working as a diving guide. After working on a farm for a couple weeks a friend and I decided to leave, we went out in the water which was his first time in the ocean and he got pulled way out in a riptide. This guy helped me to pull him back into shore and saved his life.
A lot of people mention that Costa Rica is overly americanized. It's one of the most well facilitated eco tourism countries in the world. If you want to get off the grid you can, or if you want something a little more familiar to you and close to home you can have that too.
Spending a season living in Salzburg, Austria during university was my first introduction into international business. I remember my boss asking if I could drive stick and I said yes so I could use the company car, I crashed it in the parking lot. Not the best first impression.
Its interesting how you have the three countries of Germany, Austria and Switzerland speak such different dialects of German. Just like Arabic in Morocco vs Iraq are noticeably different.
Salzburg was the birth city of Mozart.

Isn't it crazy the things we take for granted. I remember back in university at Monterey some of my friends and I would complain about there not being big enough parties. Not focusing on the fact that this bay was our playground and it is one of the most peaceful and beautiful locations in the world.
I ended up leaving home and moving to Germany at the age of 16 because I was so obsessed with trying to become a professional soccer player. I think this laid the foundation for a general trend in my life. Having a vision and passion for specific dreams and goals and then moving across the world to pursue them.
Aachen is a beautiful little city on the border of Belgium and the Netherlands. It has some of the most extravagant Christmas markets in all of Germany.
Being the start of a new month and the start of a new week, I've decided to tell you all about the various countries that I've lived in over the years. Being that this month is our events launch I thought it made sense for you to all know more about where these ideas came from.
Anyways, this is where I grew up, the bay.
I think it is always interesting to hear peoples stories about ways that they have been able to make ends meet along their journeys.
I couple of years ago I worked as a photographer and journalist for a time in order to move across the continent on motorcycle and extend my stay in the Southern part of the world. I've just released another blog post about some of these stories. ***Link on Profile Page***

Only a couple more days of spring time and Atlantic waters before heading back to the California winter. I think I'm just going to spend these last couple days and weekend surfing as much as possible.
What does this weekend have in store for you?

My goal this week is to sell this guy right here. What the heck! And we finally started making some real memories together!
I find that my admin goals are always the hardest to complete, buy a notebook, apply for a visa, research accommodation for the place I am going to be staying tonight.
What are you trying to get done this week?

I've always had this dream of climbing mountains and flying off the top. Fuji would be perfect, it is such a prominent peak. One for the bucket list.
What is something thats on yours? Annapurna Base Camp? Ride a motorcycle across Kazakhstan? Free Diving Course next to the Blue Hole in Belize?
My little home here in floripa. The breeding grounds where I’ve been able to put all of these ideas together.
The hardest thing about this job is still sitting down at the computer. I just want to keep climbing, flying and diving around the world. This whole project let’s us all do it together.

Let me introduce you to my favorite meal of all time: Schlutzkrapfen or Mezzelune (from Italian, meaning 'half moons')! They are a stuffed pasta, similar to ravioli or pierogi. The dough is usually made of white flour or buckwheat flour, mixed with eggs and olive oil. For me a filling with ricotta and spinach is the best. Others include for example mushrooms, potato, meat, red beet, or sauerkraut. The dish may be served with melted butter and LOTS of parmesan! I get so hungry right now… you too?
