You didn’t get to where you ARE overnight… So you’re not going to change overnight. Creating REAL change won’t be a quick fix. Some $9.99 e-book. Not a 3 day course. Or some magic tea. 🙄 It takes time. It often requires undoing YEARS of conditioning, breaking old habits, reframing old thought patterns and actually LEARNING. People are often looking for the fastest way to reach their goals, which unfortunately usually means EXTREMES. 🙅🏼‍♀️ ⠀⠀⠀ Restrictive dieting, over exercising, major calorie deficits, not addressing underlying areas of imbalance etc. They simply push their body towards their goal, and may “lose the weight” but…. can’t SUSTAIN it. 👎🏼 ⠀⠀⠀ They need to continue with the same level of restriction, energy output, and strictness in order to KEEP those results. And the moment a bit more flexibility is allowed - the “progress” is GONE. 👋🏼 ⠀ (Does that even make it REAL progress? 🤔) ⠀ QUICK FIXES may = QUICK RESULTS but often also = QUICK LOSS If you want to create SUSTAINABLE change - create a SUSTAINABLE approach. 🙏🏼 ⠀⠀⠀ Make healthier choices because you WANT to, not because you HAVE too. Fall in love with the process. COMMIT to the journey. Stop wasting your time, money and energy. Play the long-game. Make it a LIFESTYLE. And ACTUALLY win. 🏆💕

The cheesiest joke my colleagues have about Majid running marathons all year round; “Sidra apne miyan ko itna tang kerti hain ke he runs away from home all year round!” . . Oh well! I wonder what they will say now that I am about go for the second run this year! Yazzz folks it’s time for the 10km @dubaicreekstriders this Friday inshallah! . By the way if you guys are feeling like November and December has been BESHARAM CHEAT SEASON here are a few things that can keep your fitness swag up while breezing past all the festive treats: . 1. Balance your meals: I think it works well for me. When you cheat control the portion. 2. Average it out over the week: don’t kill a good time ! SIMRAN JEE LO APNI ZINDAGI on one full day but average it out over a whole week so a few cheat days and a few days of self restraint will make the difference ! 3. Adventure with fam : so put in a few adventurous activities that burn calories but are a good time out with family: swim at the beach , go to a water park or adventure park ( no window shopping doesn’t count) etc. 4. Quick weightloss? : start with detox ( recipe on IGTV ) and start by catching up on the fasts you have missed. It will work like magic ! Fasting burns fats no like a ninja ! . FESTIVAL EATING . If you were expecting a picture of Mithai... please read yesterday's post. This post is supposed to be about special tips for festival eating. Unfortunately the festivals never stop in our country and it is now an excuse to eat, deep fried sugar laden food. If you go back to the origin of these festivals... it did not look like what it is today. . . Growing up we celebrated 2 or 3 festivals. Now we celebrate every festival, including Halloween!!!! For me nothing changes. Festival, birthday etc etc, makes no difference. I understand, my body functions the same way every day. If I go on a 2 week crazy eating spree, my pcos will flare up. . . Now, what you can do .. If you're looking for healthy desserts... there aren't any ... replacing sugar with jaggery or honey doesnt make it much healthier, nor does it make it less calorie dense. . . You could air fry snacks and treats. . However while out moderation is key. Here is ONE simple rule to follow 1. Never over eat / eat out / cheat 2 meals in a row. This is by @sameer.sshetty and something I follow & is repeated on my program too. . Make sure you plan your day. I eat my normal food for the other 2 meals and stick to fruit for snacks. Festivals won't stop. They come back. Food is not finishing, you can eat any of it later. Remember this and you won't need to over eat. . Overeating and these issues arise when you restrict too much. That's what I focus on, in my programs. My objective is to make sure, that after the program, you can take care of yourself for life. . . When that happens, these questions don't arise. If you're struggling with these things I would recommend checking out my programs (they cost less than a kurta). Join the one starting 4th nov. When I guide you daily you'll learn and never need to worry about this again. Should I write about going off sugar tomorrow? Or how to deal with relatives / people who force you to eat ? . . . 𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙋 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙛*𝙘𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙞𝙢𝙚.👊🏼 Seriously. Why spend hours in the gym doing cardio you HATE - ending every evening EXHAUSTED. 😣 𝙒𝙝𝙮 𝙎𝙏𝙍𝙐𝙂𝙂𝙇𝙀 𝙩𝙤 𝙜𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝 𝙚𝙖𝙘𝙝 𝙙𝙖𝙮 - constantly battling cravings. Still allowing yourself to feel RESTRICTED & DEPRIVED. Why are you STILL putting so much of your ENERGY and TIME towards “dieting” and “working out” and trying to “make progress”… only to NOT actually make any progress. 🙅🏼‍♀️ ⠀ You probably already KNOW what you’re doing is NOT working for you. 𝙄 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬 𝙄 𝙙𝙞𝙙. Yet for some reason I continued for years trying whatever new fad diet or weight loss product I came across hoping IT would “finally get me skinny.” 🙄 Losing the weight… only to gain it RIGHT back. 😒 #notREALProgress Until… I decided I was DONE going through each day TIRED, UPSET & “just trying to get skinnier” I stopped trying to PUSH my body to my goals & started working WITH it. I started eating food to change my HEALTH - not just the number on the scale. And guess what… I had more energy. I had less cravings. I wasn’t so f*cking miserable all the time. 💁🏼‍♀️ AND…𝙄 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙥𝙡𝙚𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙢 𝙢𝙮 𝙥𝙝𝙮𝙨𝙞𝙦𝙪𝙚.🔥 ⠀ I was able to follow a plan I actually ENJOYED - which I WANTED to continue with because it didn’t leave me feeling like sh*t! I was able to actually create SUSTAINABLE lifestyle changes - which have had a LONG-TERM impact. I was able to help my body function at its FULL potential - which allowed me to finally LIVE at mine. ✨ 𝙎𝙤, 𝙎𝙏𝙊𝙋 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙌𝙐𝙄𝘾𝙆 𝙁𝙄𝙓𝙀𝙎. Focus on HEALTH first - and the rest will follow. 🌿

HOW LONG DOES IS TAKE TO Get fit / lose weight / control pcos I get requests asking can I lose 10kgs in a month ? Can I control pcos in 1 month ? It is possible to do anything in an appropriate time line. 1st ask - how long it took to gain weight then expect it to take at least half the time to lose it. If you are doing everything right (without compromising health) you can lose up to 1% of body weight in a week. This will depend on what you're doing & how sincere you are. Free you tube videos / cutting carbs / trendning diets— aren’t the answer. Yesterday I met a lady who did keto for 3 mnths & lost 15 kgs & gained it back in 1 month!!! Yo yo dieting is very bad for your health & demotivating I felt even worse for her because girls on my program lose at the same rate as I lost. Some faster & some more than this lady too - with much less effort. You need to follow a proper structured plan that defines how you will go from your present state to your goal. Decide what to do, then strap in for the long haul. Trust the process & follow it with patience. Think of it like a bachelor's degree. You start with year 1 then 2,3. You can't do it via YouTube and you can do yr 3 then yr1. You have to follow the course as designed. You can't say I want to finish my degree in 3 months !!! Do you think you'll pass an exam with this strategy ? Be it weightloss/fitness/work - don't look for shortcuts. Understand & then commit to a plan & don't expect results overnight. You don't need intermittent fasting/ keto/ low carb or any trending diet. Stop being swayed by diet trends. They are trends because they come & go. Eat normal food please. Dont compare with others & demotivated yourself. Don’t get swayed by "to good to be true" claims. Follow my stories to do list. Stick to the basics & you are sorted. Should I write about keto or Intermiitent fasting ? Or should I write a out eating leftovers? Since I got lots of dms on that today How many of you have tried these fad diets and what happened ? The Quickest Way to Lose Weight ..... is that there is no quick way - this is a myth. You need to sit down and get set on identifying (and accepting) how long its going to take. Here are my Top 3 tips from the video: # 1. Do the maths - 1-2lbs per week is the standard rate of weight loss. Take your current weight in lbs from your goal weight in lbs and divide that by 1.5lbs and thats how many weeks its going to take you to get there e.g. # if you currently weigh 132lbs and want to be 121lbs its going to take you anywhere between 11-5 weeks - I usually go for the middle range because its rare someone will consistently lose 2lbs per week, it will always ebb and flow (see point 3) # 2. Focus on the first 1lb - so 11 weeks (as per above example) might be a long time for some people. Focusing on it lb by lb makes it feel less overwhelming. Set goals for this week that will help you toward your next goal. Monitoring your progress on a weekly basis (via a diary or excel) helps keep you motivated when you see your progress in front of you # 3. Don't give up when you plateau - weight loss is not linear its full of ups and downs and plateaus and weddings, parties, slip ups, Christmas, birthdays and ehh life and these can be planned for (social events are just as important for our mental health as they are for our goal). When a plateau occurs most people feel its not working or that they havent been consistent enough and give up. Understand that plateaus are the bodys way of telling us "Im comfortable now so im going to stay here" and we need to challenge it further by changing up our nutrition or exercise programme. # What do you do when you hit a plateau? HOW LONG DOES IS TAKE TO Get fit / lose weight / control pcos I get requests asking can I lose 10kgs in a month ? Can I control pcos in 1 month ? It is possible to do anything in an appropriate time line. 1st ask - how long it took to gain weight then expect it to take at least half the time to lose it. If you are doing everything right (without compromising health) you can lose up to 1% of body weight in a week. This will depend on what you're doing & how sincere you are. Free you tube videos / cutting carbs / trendning diets— aren’t the answer. Yesterday I met a lady who did keto for 3 mnths & lost 15 kgs & gained it back in 1 month!!! Yo yo dieting is very bad for your health & demotivating I felt even worse for her because girls on my program lose at the same rate as I lost. Some faster & some more than this lady too - with much less effort. You need to follow a proper structured plan that defines how you will go from your present state to your goal. Decide what to do, then strap in for the long haul. Trust the process & follow it with patience. Think of it like a bachelor's degree. You start with year 1 then 2,3. You can't do it via YouTube and you can do yr 3 then yr1. You have to follow the course as designed. You can't say I want to finish my degree in 3 months !!! Do you think you'll pass an exam with this strategy ? Be it weightloss/fitness/work - don't look for shortcuts. Understand & then commit to a plan & don't expect results overnight. You don't need intermittent fasting/ keto/ low carb or any trending diet. Stop being swayed by diet trends. They are trends because they come & go. Eat normal food please. Dont compare with others & demotivated yourself. Don’t get swayed by "to good to be true" claims. Follow my stories to do list. Stick to the basics & you are sorted. FESTIVAL EATING . If you were expecting a picture of Mithai... please read yesterday's post. This post is supposed to be about special tips for festival eating. Unfortunately the festivals never stop in our country and it is now an excuse to eat, deep fried sugar laden food. If you go back to the origin of these festivals... it did not look like what it is today. . . Growing up we celebrated 2 or 3 festivals. Now we celebrate every festival, including Halloween!!!! For me nothing changes. Festival, birthday etc etc, makes no difference. I understand, my body functions the same way every day. If I go on a 2 week crazy eating spree, my pcos will flare up. . . Now, what you can do .. If you're looking for healthy desserts... there aren't any ... replacing sugar with jaggery or honey doesnt make it much healthier, nor does it make it less calorie dense. . . You could air fry snacks and treats. . However while out moderation is key. Here is ONE simple rule to follow 1. Never over eat / eat out / cheat 2 meals in a row. This is by @sameer.sshetty and something I follow & is repeated on my program too. . Make sure you plan your day. I eat my normal food for the other 2 meals and stick to fruit for snacks. Festivals won't stop. They come back. Food is not finishing, you can eat any of it later. Remember this and you won't need to over eat. . Overeating and these issues arise when you restrict too much. That's what I focus on, in my programs. My objective is to make sure, that after the program, you can take care of yourself for life. . . When that happens, these questions don't arise. If you're struggling with these things I would recommend checking out my programs (they cost less than a kurta). Join the one starting 4th nov. The cheesiest joke my colleagues have about Majid running marathons all year round; “Sidra apne miyan ko itna tang kerti hain ke he runs away from home all year round!” . . Oh well! By the way if you guys are feeling like November and December has been BESHARAM CHEAT SEASON here are a few things that can keep your fitness swag up while breezing past all the festive treats: . 1. Balance your meals: I think it works well for me. When you cheat control the portion. 2. Average it out over the week: don’t kill a good time ! SIMRAN JEE LO APNI ZINDAGI on one full day but average it out over a whole week so a few cheat days and a few days of self restraint will make the difference ! 3. Adventure with fam : so put in a few adventurous activities that burn calories but are a good time out with family: swim at the beach , go to a water park or adventure park ( no window shopping doesn’t count) etc. 4. Quick weightloss? : start with detox ( recipe on IGTV ) and start by catching up on the fasts you have missed. It will work like magic ! Fasting burns fats no like a ninja ! .
