Brought my bands along whilst away in India as they take up no room at all and am able to get a quick core, back and bicep workout back at the hotel before heading to the beach for the rest of the day 😁 We did 3 sets each of planks, straight leg lifts, v-sits, side planks. In between sets we didnt rest we did different variations of seated row at different heights using the bands around the railing. We also used the door wedge that attaches on a shut door to set up a lat pull down and then finished off with bicep curls, all with the resistance bands. Been slacking big time lately, underperforming and just not fully dialed in. 🤯⁣ ⁣ My mindset has just been a little choppy lately, my mind has a few holes in it due to some personal struggles I’m trying to iron out. 🧹⁣ ⁣ Not everything/anyone is perfect, hence my personal low activity. My at home workouts are such a life saver right now but I think of how lucky I will be once this baby comes in a few short weeks to have them💕👏🏼 . The hardest part about going to the gym or a class was always getting my ass there in the first place 🤣 I know for sure that when this babe comes and I’m cleared to workout again it won’t be all sunshine and rainbows but at least I can get shit done in my own home and not have to lug a newborn with me. Don’t get me wrong I do plan on trying out some classes like mommy and me swim or strollercize but those won’t be my main ways to workout everyday. . Mom life will change everything but I seriously can’t wait! I’m just so glad I have something that works for me that I can continue with after this baby pops out! . Grab a band and let's get to work! 🦖 . Here's a fun and simple set to inspire your weekend workouts! . 🦖 Front Hold/Lat Pull (one of my favorite upper body band combos!) 🦖 Reverse Plank Knee Drive (the drive adds both time and tension to your hold!) 🦖 Side Bend (keep the tension in your opposite obliques by not shrugging the load-bearing shoulder!) 🦖 Bear Shoulder Tap/Hip Abuction (the abduction also adds time and tension to your hold!) . 📌 Save these exercises for your next home workout, and share them with a friend! . 💡When it comes to muscles, strength and size are closely related. . Bigger muscles have the potential for higher force output. This is why bigger biceps are generally stronger than smaller biceps, and why your large quad muscles are generally stronger than your smaller arm muscles. . 💡 At this point, it would be a logical conclusion that the most muscular people are also the strongest people. . Generally, this isn’t a bad idea, but it’s definitely not the rule either. . (If you’re wondering where I’m going with this and why it’s important to you, we’re almost there haha.) . 💡 There’s one more component to strength and overall fitness that dictates how much you can lift. . That component... . Is coordination. . 💡 Brute strength and muscle size will only get you so far, but learning how to properly engage and disengage the right muscles at the right times is your ticket to true functional strength. . And here is your application! . 👷🏼‍♂️Weekend Warriors . 🔶 If you’re relatively new to fitness, I would suggest that you outright skip these moves and start with the foundational basics: squats, push-ups, deadlifts, rows, and presses. Practicing hundreds of reps over time will be the best way to develop your proprioception and coordination. You’ll be able to lift more with grater ease as you get more comfortable with the movements. . 👩🏽‍⚕️Health Pro’s . ♦️ If you already have the basics down, try these moves for a challenging twist on body-awareness. Contract this muscle as hard as possible, while relaxing that muscle as much as possible, etc. Drills like these can have a high transfer over to your heavy compound lifts. . Have fun! 🤙🏼

Sliding into the weekend! 🐳 . Have fun with these fun moves - grab two paper plates if you don't have sliders! . 🐳 Reverse Plank Swing-Through (keep a steady pendulum pace both directions!) 🐳 Bear/Pike Combo (lock each position before switching to the next one!) 🐳 Drop Reverse Lunge (think about pushing the floor down and back with your rear foot!) 🐳 4 Way Push-Up (one of my favorite strength/mobility drills! 🔥) . 📌 Tag a friend/workout buddy who should try these out! . 💡 Sliders are one of my absolute favorite tools to help leverage your bodyweight in new and exciting ways. . 🏠Home Workout Essentials🏠 . Follow @roballenfitness for more fitness/nutrition info 🙃 . Let me know what YOU couldn’t live without for your workout 👇🏼👇🏼 . First of all, you don’t really NEED all of this stuff. You can get a great workout with only a few pieces of equipment. The more you have though, the more variety you’ll be able to have in your workout. You can also have WAY more stuff than this, especially if you’re a die hard fitness enthusiast 💪🏼😊 . If you’re starting out though, don’t run out and buy thousands of $$’s worth of equipment. Get the basics. If you’re progressing well and want to invest in more stuff then go ahead. Make exercising a habit first though to prevent all your fancy equipment from going to waste. How many people know someone who’s got gym equipment at home and they never use it? 😂 . Whether you’re restarting or are a complete newbie, start slow. Get a simple program and follow it. Could be just some squats, push ups, planks and walking. Just do it consistently and build up your strength and add on stuff. If you need help, feel free to ask me . Even an advanced person can get by with minimal equipment. A lot of this stuff can be brought outside or even when you travel. It’s great for sticking to your routine . Of course if you’re a serious bodybuilder you’ll need a full gym and heavier weights to really add muscle. For the average person just trying to drop a few pounds of fat and prevent getting injured, the basics are perfect 👌🏼 . Some unconventional leg exercises @ibuildbadasses showed me the other day. I posted these on my story but they were too good not to post and share with ya! Also I was ridiculously sore in places I’ve never felt on my legs and Glutes before so I highly recommend anyone chasing those booty gains to save this and try out! 🔹ME & A SPILLWAY🔹 Locations may change but concepts stay the same... ▫️▫️▫️ If you followed me long enough you’ve probably noticed that I like variety and to move in unique ways. There are new challenges around every corner and novel workouts to be had just about everywhere you go. Today’s #fitnessfieldtrip is no exception. When I walked by this spillway last week I knew it was going to present a workout unlike anything I had ever done. Sure enough, it did not disappoint. ▫️▫️▫️ Aside from being a way for me to challenge creativity and have fun exploring new movements, workouts like this are basically like anything I would do just about anywhere else: I ran, jumped, pushed, balanced, squatted, planked, dipped, hung, leg raised, stepped up and more. The environment and specifics were different but it was a full body, unique movement experience that challenged just about every muscle using basic moves, but was done in slightly new/different ways and was fun to do. This is why I have long said that #fitnessiseverywhere - we just need to allow ourselves to see it and act on it. ▫️▫️▫️ Most of you aren’t going to be doing advanced stuff like Batman Hangs and Cat Grab Jumps but we can all explore the moves we have in our arsenal (plus a couple new challenges) anywhere and everywhere.
