Why then do we still believe the same about education? . The same principles used for training your body apply to training your mind. . You should do it everyday. You invest in books, courses, mentors - just like you would invest in dumbells, a gym membership, a MMA class and a personal trainer. 👌🏾 . It's an illusion to think it's different. . I'm not saying you should not study in a traditional sense. I'm saying you should know WHY you are studying. Is it to feel special or 'smart'? . 🅼🅾🆁🅴 🅸🆂🅽’🆃 🅰🅻🆆🅰🆈🆂 🅱🅴🆃🆃🅴🆁. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When it comes to health and wellness, excess mental stress can destroy fitness progress if you let it. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Our bodies essentially switch between our Sympathetic nervous system – often called “fight or flight” - and our Parasympathetic nervous system –often called “rest and digest”. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Both of these systems are crucial for our survival. However, problems arise when we’re constantly living in a sympathetic state, due to being overly stressed about our jobs, lives, relationships, losing fat, not sleeping, etc. This causes our body to pump out hormones like cortisol and adrenaline at a constant rate. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The presence of these hormones inhibits our “non-essential” survival processes – digestion, liver metabolism and detoxification, cellular repair, immune function, and reproduction. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ All of which can lead to: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❌Poor blood sugar management and insulin resistance ❌Depression, sleep disruption, and cravings ❌Decrease in thyroid and metabolism ❌Low libido ❌Muscle loss. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So even if you’re doing everything right, if you’re not sleeping, constantly stressing out about everything, and never taking a rest day, you likely will experience slow or stalled progress. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You need to tap into your parasympathetic state to promote relaxation and recovery. If you're not, your body is running below peak capacity; no matter how little sleep you "think you need". ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Get out of the gym. No, you won't lose your gains, or get fat. ARE REST DAYS IMPORTANT DURING THE FAT LOSS PHASE? ABSOLUTELY! It’s important to understand that when you are training, your not actually building muscle, your tearing your muscle fibres. It’s during the recovery phase that the body can repair and strengthen itself. Your muscles and metabolism work as one. The more muscle you have, the higher your metabolism is. Having a higher metabolism means fat is been burnt continuously, especially when asleep. 💪REVERSE CRUNCH BENEFITS - Follow @snm.fit for more fitness/nutrition info✅ - 📌The reverse crunch is an intermediate level variation of the popular abdominal crunch exercise. This bodyweight exercise is easy to add to any abdominal or core workout or use as part of a total body workout. - The reverse crunch is said to work the lower abs. In reality, you don't have a lower ab muscle, you have a lower region of the rectus abdominus muscle. This muscle is one large sheath of fibers, divided in six sections by tendinous creases. - ❗️❗️❗️The reverse crunch is done by lying flat on your back and putting your leg up at 90 degree. Place your hands facing the ground on either side of your body. If you are starting out, you can place the hands behind your hip for added support. Then, using your core muscles in a controlled manner; pull up your legs and hips towards the ceiling while bringing your knees towards your chest. Then return to start position. During this exercise, try not to use too much momentum or to do it so fast that you hurt yourself.
