Why you’re still skinny fat😬⁣ ⁣ Skinny fat refers to someone who has a normal weight for their height, but still has a high body fat percentage. barbell legs workout!! 💪🏼 • • Last week was a whole lot of body weight hiit circuits so it is safe to say this leg day killed me 😅 I know some of you do still have access to gym equipment so disss ones for you (or for anyone when we can go back to the gym 😈) for this workout you’ll need a barbell (A heavy dumbbell would work too) and some sort of bench (bosu ball works best to challenge stability if you have one). A resistance band adds that extra burn but isnt necessary. The format of this booty workout was so simple and is explained below ⤵️⤵️ LIKE&SAVE to keep them gains and to challenge your legs and cardio becuzzzz these rest times were short 🤪🤪 _____ ➡️each superset should be 4 rounds (the burnout 3 rounds). Between each round only a 60 second break... and between moving to the next superset only 2 minute break. **for added sweat... add in some sprints either outdoors or on a treadmill. 30 sec on/30 off X 3 in between each superset 🔥🔥 1️⃣superset: 🍭12 reps rdl 🍭20 reps glute bridge 👉🏻4 rounds 2️⃣superset: 🍭12 reps sumo deadlift (stance as wide as it can be without crushing my feet with the barbell lol) 🍭20 reps glute bridge (upper body slightly elevated) 👉🏻4 rounds 3️⃣superset: this one BURNED (add band for more resistance) 🍭20 reps heel elevated glute bridge (bosu ball adds the difficulty in terms of stability) 🍭20 reps glute bridge• 👉🏻4 rounds 4️⃣burnout:• 🍭20 reps constant tension squats (not fully locking out at the top) 🍭20 reps glute bridges (lol why not do some more) 🍭20 reps frog pumps 👉🏻3 rounds _____ Sorry for the late post tonight y’all. Check out some of these unique uses for resistance bands at home! Repost from @brittanyperilleee • Resistance bands are saving my workouts right now 💪🏼!! Who else is so thankful for bands while having to stay home? ? ? ! ! 🙌🏼 You can honestly get a damn good pump from combining the bands and dumbbells together 🔥👇🏼Don’t assume these exercises are super easy because big preggo 🤰🏼🙋🏼‍♀️ is doing them, I promise you, the burn will surprise you 😉 . . Seated Band+DBs Bicep Curl- the band runs underneath the bench and loops around each dumbbell. Remember to lift your pelvic floor and engage your TVA if you are also pregnant. Bent Over Band Bicep Curl- the band is double looped and runs around my back foot. Band+DBs Drag Curl- i like to imagine I am holding a serving tray as I lift and lower. My elbows travel forward as I extend my arms and then backwards as I drag my wrists upward. Band +DB Bent Over Row- the band is looped around my staircase and the dumbbell. I allow for a nice stretch before I pull with my lat. Seated Band Mid Row- the band is looped through my stairs. My chest stays lifted for all reps. #LEGS Part ✌️: #weightedsquats with #dumbbells on my shoulders on top of a hoodie so they wouldn’t dig into my skin. #gobletsquats with heels elevated (first time trying these and wowza), #sumosquats with arms bent to give me deeper ROM, #bulgariansplitsquats on the couch, stability ball wall squats (figured out later that putting the ball lower on my back to begin with makes it more like a sissy squat feel), weighted #sidelunges, a dumbbell leg extension, and banded TKE (#terminalkneeextension). Between 2002-2007 I had two right knee surgeries and a torn quad. I am forever thankful I’ve accomplished what I have since then, but I’ll forever have to do extra to keep it together. The wrap, the TKE, quads sets, and icing is usually my norm deeper in prep. The Most Dreaded Muscle Group...Calves 💀 My calves have ALWAYS been a lagging muscle group...and I can’t be skipping out on them even though I don’t have my seated calf raise or leg press Calf Raises on the stairs have been one of the solutions I’ve come up with so far, here’s my process: 10-15 reps per stair (I have 13 steps in my house) with a pause at the bottom and top of each rep. I rest <30 seconds between each step My calves are always lit up after hitting these. How have you guys trained calves without traditional equipment available?

Happy Monday 🌼 Today has been a tough one, the realisation that this lockdown is going to go on for a while has finally hit and the motivation to keep any sense of a routine is slowly starting to dwindle... amazingly to lift my spirits though, I found out i was one of the winners of the latest @shreddy contest, which gave me the kick up the butt to get focussed and feeling a little more optimistic! Never miss a Monday! If you’re tired of reading about COVID19 and want a change of pace, my new blog post is up 😃(link in bio). I had a good time today getting my workout in before my pre-nightshift nap. As someone who does a lot of compound movements, it feels good to isolate my muscles and work on a few of my imbalances during this off-time that I have while the gym is closed. Doing bodyweight or calisthenic-style training is not my first choice, but for the time being it feels good to get my muscles working and I’m sure some good will come out of this in the long-term.
