First day of the GVT and it was feeling good. The workout has minimal exercises per day, but more exercises doesn’t always equal a better workout. I can still only tolerate body weight movements and SOME movements with a bar. It's been over a month since I could do any glute, hamstring, posterior chain or isolation exercises back there. SO with that being said, I have been completely discrediting body weight movements for a LONG time. Try these side lunges as a finisher. 🔥🔥 hell, maybe even give a body weight leg day a try.. Finally found a nice insulated water bottle that isn't a small fortune. Got this Bubba 40 oz bottle for $20 at Walmart. I have a few contigo water bottles but if I'm going out for the day 24 oz is just not enough. Also, who likes warm water? Bleh. Can confirm that this one kept my water ice cold all day at the beach. I wish I had bought this at the beginning of summer haha.

Thought I’d share this lateral raise variation I really like - I feel this isolates medial delt better than any other variation. One key thing on this is to keep your head back so you don’t engage upper traps, also only let your hands come down beside your hips, no crossing over in front of the body for the same reason💯💪🏼

Mini double clutch! I need to practise as much of these movements as I can. Sometimes my brain isn't wired to tell my hand or hands to move again after it first lands, so I need to train some new motor skills. This a similar movement (much easier) to a boulder I couldn't do at World Champs (see next video). I was super close a bunch of times but wasn't quite getting the height or being fast enough with my right hand. The wall was so steep so you were being forced so far back but if you could jump high enough and had fast hands it wasn't so bad.... or you could actually go right hand straight to the jug. It's a Monday and I think the weather here in Northern Alberta knows that as well The @mshealthandfitness contest is coming to a close and so many people have put my life as a priority for the past 2 months. The amount of shares, likes and votes people clicked day over day means so much to me. #motivationmonday this week goes to all you who kept my name in people's heads, whether they wanted it there or not 🤣. I managed to come out of my groups with 1st place standings but these finals have been tough. Did I ever think I would even make it out of round 1... No.. but we did ! Top 25 out of 50,000 is insane. Currently sitting 10th I believe which is still insane and I am totally happy, content and humble with where I am at. ‼️Pushin’ Weight 495LBS for 10‼️ . . The squat is the perfect analogy for life. It’s about standing back up after something heavy tries to bring you down. Over, and over, and over again. . . One small thing that I feel makes a big difference is unracking the bar with a damn purpose like your finishing a rep. If you unrack the bar slowly or off position the first thought that goes through you mind is most likely going to be “fu*k, this is heavy.” If you do that, then you’ve already failed this set because you began with doubt rather than confidence. When I pick that bar up with intention, I tell myself, “this isn’t that heavy.” I also try to get my walkout in two steps with a third step or foot adjustment if necessary. After that, cue yourself with whatever cues work best for you on every single rep! End-of-Summer Physique Update 🌞 Due to the lack of energy I had after my long days at work, I spent a majority of the summer squeezing my lifts in at 6 a.m. before heading to my job. This meant my work outs had to be cut from my typical 2 hours to an hour and 15 minutes MAX. I began creating sessions composed of 4-5 supersets, pushing through while taking minimal rest periods. Between this adjustment and eating smaller portions filled with protein and vegetables, I lost about 10 pounds since coming back to Miami. Although this wasn’t intentional I’m proud of the work I’ve put into my physique. As I return to Gainesville for what’s going to be my most challenging semester yet, I’m ready to prioritize my mental health far more. There is no amount of leanness that can make up for a lack of happiness, wonderful memories with loved ones, and a healthy approach to everyday life. I’ve come to learn a body is as strong as the mind that leads it, and in all honesty need to practice what I preach. Here goes nothing...
