First attempt at 95kg. Got 5 reps out. Did another set of 4 after this. My legs are sore as hell today but goddamn I did it. I can taste that 100. This time last year I was trying to get 70kg for a few reps. Progress. I’m 5’2” and weigh 65kg. To every woman out there who ever looks at a weight and thinks “I can’t lift that” I’m here to tell you that YES YOU BLOODY WELL CAN. There’s something so empowering about getting strong as hell, and you don’t have to sacrifice physique for it either. It’s literally win-win. Only downside is you might get some weird Gary’s in your DMs 😂 #shutupgary If you want to get strong af and build a badass body I’m your girl. Hit me up and get strong af already. Avslutter treningsåret (i Trondheim) med et brak! Tangerte i benk med 95kg i dag 😍 kjørte hele 9 arbeidssett (den faktiske treningsøkta) før jeg bestemte meg for å pushe litt ekstra på kilo. Dette medførte at 97,5 ble akkurat for tung i dag 😤 Er allikevel kjempefornøyd med dagens prestasjon og angrer på at jeg ikke meldte meg på benk-NM i helgen 🤦🏼‍♀️💔

Assisted Anderson’s squats - - Use the band for assistance to feel heavier weights on your body, so when it comes to the point to actually lift the same weight in a few weeks ahead without any help, your mind won’t tell you “ohhhhhh, this is heavy”. - - You’ll be mentally prepared to push the weight . You already felt it on your back - - It’s a mind game. Plus bands help you push weights beyond your PRs and limits which puts more stress on your nervous system (good stress), and body reacts strongly against it. That will help you gain more muscles and more power :) - - I use safety pins to load the bar on top of them, pause on the bottom while keeping my body tight and then explode up. - - There’s no momentum on the bottom. Want pancakes but don’t want the calories? 🥞 Try this recipe next time you want something sweet. 😋 Gluten Free and delicious! 🤤🌱 📝 INGREDIENTS 1 1/2 cup oats 2 teaspoons baking powder 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1/8 teaspoon salt 1 cup almond milk 1 egg 1 ripe banana 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 1/2 cup chocolate chips Coconut oil for cooking . 👩‍🍳 INSTRUCTIONS 1. In a high-speed blender, place the oats, and blend until the oats become powder-like. Add the baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon and salt to the blender and pulse once to combine. Transfer to a small bowl and set aside. 2. In the same blender, add the almond milk, egg, banana and vanilla extract, and blend until well combined. 3. Add the dry ingredients and mix until everything is well incorporated with no flour streaks. Some lumps in the batter are ok. Transfer batter to a bowl and fold in chocolate chips. 4. Scoop about 1/3 cup batter onto hot pan prepared with coconut oil and cook on medium heat for 2-3 minutes per side. Repeat for the remaining pancake batter. 5. August 7th 2018, my very first squat at the rack 💕 (55lbs) (I am so happy it was recorded). The second slide is the latest video I could get on the rack. I’m up to squatting about 105lbs on a good day. A few things I learned my first day: • The bar itself (at my gym) is 44lbs, I had no idea these were weighted before I tried using it! • When lifting using flat bottom shoes is important because then your heels aren’t rocking and you can engage your glute and leg muscles better. • Using a pad on the bar when doing squats can throw you off balance big time. • People aren’t watching themselves workout (well, maybe some are), they’re checking their form! Trying to do this without a mirror is much harder than you think! • When you start to up your weights it’s okay not to do the same amount of reps, drop that number if you need to! I’ve come a long way in a year and a few months I think, and it’s only getting better from there! Watching the first video makes me so happy because I remember driving home that night thinking I was so accomplished and ready to do it again! Damn I love hitting PRs. Especially on my favorite day LEG DAY. Performed 4 sets of 2 reps then a AMRP set of 10. And with 505. Love the grind. Hard to focus with all the kids running around @unbreakableathleticsacademy but still got the work in with @ktansy4 who is also putting that work I 💪.

E D U C A T E | WHY ZURCHER SQUAT?🏋️‍♂️ 👩🏼‍🏫6 reasons you'd choose this movement: 1️⃣To create a strong awareness for anterior bracing (locking down and avoiding overextension through the spine). . 2️⃣It's self limiting (to a degree), meaning if you cannot get in the right spot, you won't be able to lift it, avoiding compensation. . 3️⃣Upper back tightness. This one is pretty self explanatory once you feel the weight in your arms but you've got to create tension and drive into the upper back to avoid falling forward. . 4️⃣It's a far more advanced version of a goblet squats are too easy or holding weight in the hands is an issue. . 5️⃣When axial loading (placing the bar on the spine) is an issue, it's a great alternative. . 6️⃣To deload while still . You won't be able to go as heavy as back squats, but the weight still FEELS heavy. Great for a mechanical deload. This means less weight but an increased reliance on stabilisers and metabolic stress instead! . 👏Props to @madiashley for her first time using Zurchers and still managing to make them look 👌 #MOVESWIFTLY

Transformation Tuesday 🔥 🔥🔥 This is really more like progress Tuesday, oh well you get the point! All I’ve really been doing is weight lifting the past few months (and lovin’ it) 🏋🏻‍♀️🏋🏻‍♀️🏋🏻‍♀️ In the summer I was not able to workout much at all (I had an ingrown toenail *ew* and after that was fixed I went and dropped my laptop on the same toe, can’t do much lifting or running or anything too active after that). So the left pic is right after I finally got back into doing some light at home workouts. The right pic was taken last week after a solid 2 months of consistent heavy lifting again. *It’s important to note the poses and camera angles are slightly different 🙃 I do feel much stronger and I’m impressed with how dedicated I’ve been (it’s been easy for me to fall of track in the past, like when I started dating my boyfriend and when I got hurt blah blah blah) to sticking to working out. So seeing some progress as well as feeling it feels really good! ⭕️2 GREAT Adductor Exercises⭕️⁣ ⁣ There are many great exercises for each muscle group that can be done, however people can easily end up doing "too much" when the goal is growth. ⁣ ⁣ And this is one reason why, I always preach including heavy (well performed) compound movements in your training routine. ⁣ ⁣ When it comes to adductor training, you can certainly do adductor machines, or any other machine variation you could think of... but you could also just get super strong at squatting, which is what most people won't do.⁣ ⁣ Quite in fact, the activation of adductor muscles is a great contributor to squat strength, and it increases as we get stronger at the exercise. [1]⁣ ⁣ Stronger and bigger wheels, in half the time. ⁣ ⁣ Squats will always be my number one recommendation for strong legs, although context always matters and we need to take that into consideration as well. ⁣ ⁣ This takes me to another (completely different) exercise for the adductors, which I think is also another great one, which works the muscle isometrically/eccentrically and can be a good choice to even improve performance and reduce or prevent groin/adductor pain: the Copenhagen adductor exercise. [1, 2]⁣ ⁣ This exercise is actually very simple but definitely not easy. You won't need any equipment asides from maybe a bench or something to put your upper leg on. From there, you'll need to align your torso on the same line with the leg, stabilizing your shoulder and upper body as you would do in a side plank.⁣ ⁣ The execution of the exercise will require you to get the leg on the floor, up (close to the one on top) for a number of reps. ⁣ ⁣ What exercises do you do for your adductors? ⁣ ⁣ This post should definitely make you squat more (in case you weren't now you'll do!). If you've never tried the Copenhagen Adductor Exercise, give that a try as well. 🔥Front vs. Back Squats🔥 . Follow @roballenfitness for more fitness/nutrition info 👊🏼 . Both squat variations are extremely useful in building strength, adding muscle and developing power for athletic activities . There are differences in mechanics that make different muscle groups activate slightly differently in each version of the squat. The overall muscle recruitment is very similar though . 📄🧐Frequency: The Overlooked Resistance Training Variable for Inducing Muscle Hypertrophy Sports Medicine May 2017 PMID 27752983 [Indexed for MEDLINE] 👉🏽It’s a discussion about possible “wasted sets” hypothesizing that increasing the training frequency, instead of increasing sets/loads may be a more appropriate strategy for increasing muscle size on trained individuals. ⁉️There’s no definitive truth and each body responds different to stimulus variations, so I think that’s an interesting reading. 💡What do I think? It’s a very controversial topic and it goes against what the American College of Sports Medicine suggests. But it seems like a good strategy used for some athletes on muscle groups like calves, abs, delts etc... (even legs). 🙌🏽Also, don’t forget that there are so much more things involved, like rest, diet, individual recovery capacity, enhancers use etc...
