So many times, I hear clients say that they miss not being able to have a “treat” whilst on plan. More often than not, when they say this, they are usually referring to food (more specifically, unhealthy, fatty foods) or alcohol. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t guilty of this occasionally too! However, these are the things that have usually made us feel rubbish in the first place and are the reason we are on a diet! When we eat unhealthy, fatty foods and drink alcohol, aren’t these the very things that can make us feel... fat...? Bloated...? Unhealthy...? Tired...? Sluggish...? So if we feel this way when we have a “treat”..... then what actually makes them a treat? Why can’t we have something that will actually make us feel good about ourselves? This might be a nice healthy meal that we feel proud of ourselves for cooking and enjoying just as much as fast food. Or what about treating ourselves to something that isn’t food? Avez-vous déjà vu un (deux) chou comme ça ?!! 😂🤣 Mes parents me l ont ramené de leur potager... devinez quel poids il fait? 5kg!!!! On a déjà cuisiné la moitié, l autre moitié attendra quelques jours de plus, tant pis pour la perte en vitamines, il reste riche en fibres (apporte la satiété ) et riche en eau. Mon fils en raffole mais uniquement cru en salade. J ai quand même cuisiné un quart de ce chou à l étouffée car j aime beaucoup 😍 : 2 càs d huile d olive , un oignon à faire revenir (On peut ajouter quelques lardons mais je n en avais plus), puis ajouter le chou blanc émincé, du poivre, du curcuma, sel, et couvrir en mélangeant régulièrement, une vingtaine de minutes au total. Ajouter un fond d eau si nécessaire. Déguster 😋 Cru c est aussi très bon, il suffit d émincer le chou, et d y ajouter votre vinaigrette habituelle. Vous avez aussi de si gros choux dans vos potagers? 𝑶𝒏𝒕𝒃𝒊𝒋𝒕 𝒗𝒂𝒏 𝒅𝒆 𝑫𝒂𝒈... Onlangs begonnen met stoppen en afbouwen van mijn pijnstillers en ADD medicatie ( straks). Dit is best heftig. Maar de enige klachten zijn hoofdpijn, slapeloosheid ( om de nacht ,deze nacht ging prima) en fibro moe en spierpijn gaan gewoon door. Dus griep gevoel kort uitgelegd. Toch probeer ik minstens 2 fatsoenlijke maaltijden te maken, fruit te eten. En water en kruidenthee te drinken. Asam linoleat yang terdiri dari asam omega-6 adalah blok bangunan lapisan jaringan dalam sel, dengan membantu transportasi air di dalam sel. Fungsi lain asam lemak omega-6 adalah perlindungannya terhadap sel-sel pada kulit yang membantu mempertahankan kelembapan. Lemak yang sehat juga ini juga bisa menurunkan peradangan yang menyebabkan gangguan autoimun, seperti rheumatoid arthritis dan psoriasis. Asam lemak omega-6 yang kemudian dikonversi menjadi lemak tak jenuh sehat lainnya mengurangi risiko diabetes tipe 2 dan penyakit jantung dan meningkatkan kontrol gula darah. Anda bisa mendapatkan asam lemak ini dari minyak kedelai, minyak zaitun, minyak jagung, biji bunga matahari dan almond. FOR THE LOVE OF OUR KIDNEYS!!! The magnitude of the problem of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is enormous, and the prevalence of kidney failure is rising. Currently, CKD is emerging as a worldwide public health problem. The World Health Report 2002 and Global Burden of Disease project reports show that diseases of the kidney and urinary tract contribute to the global burden of diseases with approximately 850,000 deaths every year and 15,010,167 disability-adjusted life years. Globally, they represent the 12th cause of death and 17th cause of disability. This may however be an underrepresentation of the contribution of CKD to global burden of disease. In Nigeria, the situation is such that CKD represents about 8–10% of hospital admission. This may be a huge underrepresentation of the true situation. It is well known that CKD is underrecognized and underdiagnosed, patients with end-stage renal failure (ESRD) are thought to represent the tip of the iceberg of the entire burden of CKD. Hypertension and diabetes mellitus (chronic non-communicable diseases [NCDs]) are the two major causes of CKD worldwide.  Chronic kidney disease (CKD) has become a major health concern globally, especially in developing countries with a marked burden in Sub-Saharan Africa. This concern is largely due to the rising prevalence of risk factors such as type 2 diabetes, hypertension, and the HIV pandemic, the enormous cost implication of its treatment, its role in cardiovascular morbidity and mortality and the fact that the disease largely afflicts the economically productive younger age groups. The early stages of CKD (stages 1-3a) are generally asymptomatic; therefore, the burden of the disease at these early stages goes largely undetected and difficult to assess. The symptoms only begin to manifest when greater than fifty percent of renal functional mass has been lost. Most patients therefore present late to hospital, usually in the advanced diseased states and in need of salvage dialysis. How do you take care of your kidneys? Stop loading it with animal protein, processed foods and dairy.

Long time ago I understood that the greatest energy comes from the right food. Be smart and choose a healthy @plantbased @diet. Breakfast today: Tofu w. Broccoli, asparagus and rye bread 🌱😋🏋🏼‍♀️ Prep: Heat a tsp. of olive oil in a pan, add the tofu (previously marinated in soy sauce), add the veggies and some garlic powder, salt and black pepper. Stir it for about 10 minutes. Serve it with a mix of chia, flax, sunflower and pumpkin seeds!! ENJOY!!! 😉😃

Easy weeknight meal: Pasta with arugula, your favorite sauce & tofu! You have the yummy pasta as well as greens from the arugula and protein from the tofu. I used @raoshomemade roasted garlic sauce (current obsession) & @hodofoods Spicy Harissa tofu cubes (the cubes are also really great for food prep). Jalapeño Apple Sweet Potato Hash with Ham and Eggs @themealprepmanual⁣ ⁣ INGREDIENTS ⁣ Makes 5 servings ⁣ 10 eggs⁣ 1 lb ham steak⁣ 2 medium sweet potatoes (mine was 450g total)⁣ 1-2 jalapeños depending on spice preference ⁣ 1 red pepper⁣ 1/2 sweet onion⁣ 1 golden delicious apple⁣ 1.5 tbsp olive oil⁣ Salt and pepper to taste⁣ ⁣ PREPARATION ⁣ 1. Preheat oven to 425F⁣ 2. Hard boil 10 eggs. ⁣ 3. Wash and cut potatoes into a medium dice. Toss in 1 tbsp of olive oil and bake for 10 minutes. Flip and cook an additional 10 minutes. ⁣ 4. Cut the onion and red pepper into a small dice. Cut the jalapeño into slices. Cut out the seeds if you don’t like heat. ⁣ 5. Heat 1/2 tbsp of oil in a pan over medium heat. Sauté the onions for a few minutes and then add in the pepper and jalapeño. Cook until soft. ⁣ 6. Cut the apple into a medium dice.⁣ 7. Remove from heat. Add the potatoes and apple to the pan with the peppers. Season with salt and pepper. ⁣ 8. Cook the ham however you please. You don’t even need to if you don’t want to. ⁣ 9. Divide into 5 servings.
