⚠️Yesterday CNN ran an article about how fluoride exposure in pregnant women may be associated with lower IQ in children. Here are my favorite natural oral care products. I have been using fluoride free tooth paste for almost 10 years now. The best form of protection for your teeth (in my opinion) is a good diet. Your teeth are little sponges and they are affected by what you drink and eat. If you drink and eat sugary/ acidic food then imagine something like soda soaking into you teeth and the damage it is doing. Alternatively if you’re eating vitamin and mineral rich foods then you’re teeth will be natural healthier because your mouth will be less acidic. ✨tongue scraper- omg an essential! A toothbrush simply can not compare. Once you start using a tongue scraper you will wonder how you survived without it. ✨Oralive by Ascended Health a clay based tooth paste with probiotics, herbs, and essential oil. My favorite tooth paste by far! It’s pricey, but it will last you forever and a little goes a long way. ✨floss is floss, but I use this cinnamon neem from Theraneem Natural’s ✨oil pulling! I love oil pulling it’s such a great lymphatic detox for your throat and mouth too.

They don’t decide based on whether or not they feel like it or are in the mood to; they have a sense of responsibility. —-< Can you connect with your own inner sense of responsibility for your actions, so you can “just do” the thing(s) that needs to get done. . •Extraordinary powers/abilities...you have them too. Maybe you don’t realize how you can use them, but start thinking and get creative. Ask your friends or family what they think you’re really awesome at... 🦸🏻‍♀️ -organization? -planning? -communicating? -creativity? —-< then use those abilities to start digging deeper into creating sustainable habits. Examples: ✏️ use a calendar to pencil in workout sessions 🛒 plan one weekly meal 📓 journal daily about what went well and what could go better next time 👀 make a vision board for where you want to be in 30 days, etc). . . ▶️The point is, no one else can really rescue you from inconsistent exercise & poor nutrition choices. Summers soon coming to a close; school is starting soon for families; alot of you are heading back to college or going for the first time, and i know this season is a very busy season for everyone... but when is life NOT busy? When is it ever really easy to decide its time to change your lifestyle and start that new fitness program you've been thinking about? When is it easy to meal prep and make healthy food for your family instead of just getting fast food, pizza or frozen dinners after school and work? When do we really feel like we have the time to fit in a workout when you need to get to work, or in between work and picking your child up from daycare? But guys, the real question is if not now, then WHEN? When will you decide THIS is the month and the time to commit to yourself, even if its just doing 30 minute workouts from home; or trying out one or two new, healthy recipes to make for yourself and your family; or saying no to binge watching netflix and instead taking one hour to do something for you and your mental health - like reading that book you've had sitting around for months, or a 30 min bath to relax and shut out the world. or schedule a girls night out with friends you haven't seen in months, or for asking a friend to go on a walk with you after work... Every time you say "i don't have the time" - what you're saying is that eating healthy, feeling better about yourself, spending time with friends that make you smile and remind you of who you are isn't WORTH the time. We all are busy, but if its important to you, you will find the time. SALTED CARAMEL RAW BROWNIE BITES🤩😍😋 THIS. IS. LIFE. Do yourself a favor and make these asap! It’s soooo easy and tastes delicious! Ingredients: 1 cup pecans 1/8 tsp sea salt 1/4 cup cacao powder 1/2 cup almond butter 10 drops liquid stevia 2 tbsp coconut flour 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips 1/2 tsp vanilla extract Instructions: Step 1: Gather all ingredients. In a food processor add in the pecans and sea salt. Process until finely ground. Step 2: Add in the cocoa powder, nut butter, vanilla extract and stevia and process until well combined. Step 3: Add in the coconut flour and process again. Add chocolate chips and pulse. Step 4: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Roll the dough between the palm of hands to form small 1 tbsp balls and place on parchment paper. Continue until all the batter is used. Step 5: Place the baking sheet in the freezer for 10-20 mins until firm. Store in a sealed container in refrigerator. #organic #healthtips #raw #brownie #foodie #wholefoods

This year I am doing things a little different. Might seem silly to some, but wow this summer I realized how bad we need a routine and to get more organized. We had a blast this summer, but on the other hand it was definitely crazy. I closed my store in January, to come work from home. Shortly after my Daughter was bullied to the point she made some poor choices and I pulled her from school. Not to long after that it was summer break. We went Day by day and it’s not working for me anymore. Ok I am great at meal planning, prepping, my workouts are spelled out for me. I got all@that down. Now when it comes to keeping my house clean, and setting this house up to be a work area too, well there’s where I need some work. Things are slowly falling in place, feeling better and healthier has been a huge thing, now I need to figure this other stuff out. You are not alone in your thoughts! ⁣⁣ Speaking of thoughts, that’s all they are - just thoughts! That does not mean that they are true or hold value 🙅🏻‍♀️ ⁣⁣ We can make up all sorts of lies about ourselves on the daily. Would you tell your friend the thoughts you tell yourself in your head?⁣⁣ I would hope not😉 ⁣⁣ I tell my clients that you are allowed to not “love your body” every single day. That is totally okay and normal!! But…⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Here are some strategies to help overcome this:⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ ✨Replace your negative thoughts with a positive affirmation like “I am good enough the way I am” or “I am valuable”. Keep repeating!!⁣⁣ ⁣ ✨Thank your body! Give praise for your body and what it is currently doing… breathing, digesting, seeing, walking, hearing etc. How great is your body!⁣⁣ be grateful for the things it can do 🙏🏼 ⁣ ✨If you are feeling a certain way (sad, upset etc.), change up your environment! When the kids ask for an orange smoothie, it works out and all is well in the world 😍 This is the perfect antidote to summer cold- no one talks about them but we all know they exist. I have one now - that is part if the reason I have been mia and yes, they suck just as much as the other ones. It is refreshing, full of delicious summer fruits, veggies & has a vitamin boost to help you get over that cold fast. It is also free of banana and dairy so it will not increase congestion 👊🏻 Recipe 1 1/2 c frozen strawberries 1 1/2 c mango 3 medjool dates 1 c frozen cauliflower 6 grams vitamin c powder 1-2 T raw honey optional Water Place all ingredients in the blender and cover with water. Blend until smooth and enjoy. Serves 5

Bloating days! The weather in Adelaide isn't showing any signs of spring this week. Yesterday was my first time back at yoga since going to the conference. (I’m a beginner🙌🏾). Yesterday our instructor had us place one hand on our heart and one hand on our stomach. On the inhale and exhale, she had us repeat a mantra to ourselves. The mantra was (inhale) “I am” (exhale) “beautiful”. ⁣ ⁣ Since then, it’s been on my mind. “I am beautiful”. It’s something I have struggled with believing and feeling for a while. Growing up I never fit the standard of beauty and things people said over time did wear on me and it did impact my self esteem whether that had been about my skin color or my weight or whatever(once I was out with a guy with I was seeing and he saw one of his friends and his friend basically asked why he was with me he was used to seeing him with thinner girls...mind you I was like 20 pounds lighter but that’s neither here nor there ✋🏾). ⁣ ⁣ The problem was is that I was looking for other people to define my beauty instead of myself. It’s a long road ahead and I’m not perfect. I still struggle from day to day with my self esteem and confidence. Buttttt I do want to remind y’all that you are beautiful...inside and out! Don’t let anyone ever tell you otherwise. ⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Anywho happy Wednesday! We’re almost to the weekend🙌🏾 here’s a picture Austin took from one of his hikes while I was out at AADE. He doesn’t use social media and it was way too much beauty for me not to share! 🤗

What's the least amount you can get away with? ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's my answer when people ask me how much they should have of something. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Because there is no answer. Unless I know every thing else that you're eating that day, I can't answer that. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ To lose weight, you have to take into consideration your whole day of food. Anything works if your total intake is still under what you burn. To make something higher in calories fit, you have to cut back somewhere else. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Sometimes cutting back isn't so difficult. Take these Wasa crackers, for example. Do you really need that cracker smothered in butter and jelly? Or can you do with just enough to enjoy? The 60 something calories you save don't seem that significant, but we're talking about one cracker here. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Imagine how many calories you'll save over the multitude of crackers and toast you'll eat over time. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It adds up. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ See if you can get by with less. Over time, it will make a big difference.

Weight Watchers (WW) has created a program for kids which puts kids at an extremely high risk for developing eating disorders. My first job out of college was working at a weight loss camp for teens in Wisconsin. I was young and under the spell of diet culture and my recent nutrition degree, not understanding the harm I was taking part in. I have literally been the person helping a child lose weight and I am absolutely certain it was harmful. @chr1styharrison has written a beautiful article in the New York Times speaking to why this is such an issue. Anywhere can be ✨ if your brain feels that way. August has been a month of getting back in control of my health. My thyroid, my mental health, and a false alarm breast cancer scare (which I'll share more about in a few weeks) all came to a head at the end of July and I realized that I needed to take back control. ⁠ ⁠ One thing I did was take a meditation course for the first time with @benturshenmeditation - it was in NYC (though he has online courses) 2 hours over 2 days and I have been meditating for 15-27 minutes twice a day every day since August 8th (ok fine there was one day I had friends visiting and woke up and just didn’t want to so I didn’t 🤷‍♀️ but I'm committed to doing 30-54 minutes a day until at least October 10th, which also happens to be World #MentalHealthDay.⁠ ⁠ At first, I thought, "54 minutes a day?! How on earth am I going to do this?! Who has time for that?!" And it's true I'm working out less--and my work hours might be a little less, too these past two weeks--but I'm committed and so far, I've noticed I'm no longer frustrated or annoyed that I have to do it. It just is, I've surrendered to the idea that practice is now in my life.⁠ ⁠ I'm only two weeks in but I'll keep you updated on the changes I feel as the weeks and months progress.
