✴Training Update✴ Last Friday marked the end of yet another productive training block. Seriously guys, rather than spending tons of cash on worthless supplements , invest in a quality coach. The #ironcreed duo @kaushal_sumedh @junaiidansarii really know their shit. . Really really happy with the way bench has progresses so far, paused press my previous tng 3RM for 5 sets of triples. Apart from misgrooving the heavier squats I am really stoked to hit the following PRs 1ct paused Bench 5x3 90kgs 1ct paused Bench 75x10 LB Squats 3x9 105 LB squats 4x4 120 Deads 147.5 x5x3. And PRs on other compound and accessories. . Could have extended the block by 1 more week had it not been for exams this week. A few weeks ago I got to spend time with two of my closest girlfriends. One of the most important things about my healing is spending time with the special humans who can make me smile, who I can confined in effortlessly, the friends who really give me the feeling of so much love without even really trying. . . Because I never feel good, or feel like I hold a conversation very well these days, I sometimes feel social anxiety in situations where I’m hanging out with friends that I’ve known and loved for so many years ... but I push myself to get through that anxiety. And I’m glad I did. It’s important to surround yourself with positive loving people who accept you through the good and bad and I’m so incredibly thankful to not only have these two beautiful humans by myself but a bunch of other friends. . . Bodybuilding, strength training and physique culture has a rich history. While we may all know the contributions of popular icons like Joe Weider, Eugen Sandow, Charles Atlas, Georg Hackenschmidt and Arnold Schwarzenegger, an American proponent of physical culture should also be acknowledged; Bernarr Macfadden (born Bernard Adolphus McFadden). Born on August 16th, 1868, Macfadden proceeded both Jack LaLanne and Charles Atlas as the godfather of health & fitness culture in the United States. In 1899 Macfadden founded Physical Culture magazine and remained editor until the August 1912 issue. Macfadden was an early advocate of fasting when at that time the practice was associated with poor health and illnesses like Anorexia Nervosa. He believed that fasting was sure way to improve ones health. He also viewed fasting as a way to prove a man’s superiority over other men. To prove his point, Macfadden was photographed after a seven day fast lifting a 100 lbs. dumbbell over his head to demonstrate the positive effects of the fast. He also opposed the consumption of white bread, calling it the “staff of death”. Macfadden built “healthatoriums” in the midwestern and eastern United States that offered educational programs like the “Physical Culture Training School”. However, Macfadden was unsuccessful in trying to found his own religion based on physical culture called “Cosmotarianism”. Macfadden died of a urinary tract infection in 1955. Sometimes life can a little lotta hectic and you find yourself waking up , blink, and the days already over. These days I’m between closing on my new home, work, daycare transitions, my toddler can’t catch a break with being sick. I haven’t gone to the gym much lately , haven’t been eating clean or making the best choices. And still dealing with my health issues. These last two days have consisted of 13 hour work days and coming home to a toddler who’s sick, cranky, and wanting time with her mommy after being around strangers at daycare. No matter how exhausted I am, how long the work day was or how much more I still have to get done. These moments here matter the most. These moments here where she feels the same sense of relief I do when we see each other make everything better. It’s for these moments that I continue to build my vision. So that I don’t have to spend 13 + hours away from her. My fire 🔥 , my reason to keep fighting everyday 💕. Progress will mean many different things, for many different people. But it's a common misconception that all of our progress can be summarised by a simple number on a scale. - Now while fat loss does have its physiological benefits, it can't be the only thing we use to meaure our success. There are many other benefits to training other than just lowering our body fat percentage. There will also be times where fat loss will slow down/stop, and from a mental standpoint, that can be hard to deal with. But when you have a wider criteria for success that includes more than just fat loss, you can kick goals year round and essentially avoid that feeling that you've 'plateaued'. Meaning your motivation to train will likely stay higher throughout the years to come. - Training hard, often and intelligently will never be a bad thing and will always bring some form of physiological/mental benefit, regardless of what the scale says.

WHO LOVES HOUSE PLANTS AND WHATS YOUR FAVORITE?🧐👇🏽 . . Mine? Snake plants🙌🏽. Sure I love this abundance of fruit in this picture. I often encourage juicing, fruits, vegetables and more recently the importance of the water you’re drinking, even natural cleaning products around the house, but recently I’ve been filling my space up with plants. I have two huge snake plants on both sides of my bed. So why use house plants or even snake plants? Studies have shown house plants help clean indoor air by absorbing toxins, increasing humidity and producing oxygen which makes breathing and sleeping much smoother. The snake plants clean air better than most indoor plants with its ability to absorb excessive amounts of carbon monoxide while emitting oxygen and filtering other toxins from the air such as benzene, xylene, trichloroethylene and formaldehyde. You can say I’m going too far or being too hippy, I just say why not stack the deck in your favor when it comes to health and well being. What’s your favorite plant?

Hi just over here trynna keep my shit together!!😅 - But on a real note, I’ve got 4 finals coming up and a big project due and then I’m DONE with the semester (hallelujah praise the lerd). On the gym side, I’ve been super motivated and lifting pretty heaving. I’ve been really enjoying my time in the gym! I go through highs and lows throughout the year and sometimes it’s really tough to find motivation to get into the gym much less enjoy being there. Going through the lows make me super grateful when I’m in the high, just like anything in life. Sometimes, you just have to remind yourself why you started and how far you’ve come! What gets you motivated??

Dahl is one of my all-time favourite meals. I almost always have a few takeaway containers of leftover dahl in my freezer for quick dinners - I like to make a big batch and then freeze everything I don’t eat. It’s a great source of vegan protein & fibre, so cheap to make and super versatile. This bowl was even easier to make than normal, because I just added a @love_my_earth dahl kit to a pan with some onion, water, a tin of tomatoes and a zucchini and cooked for half an hour, then paired my dahl with coconut @tildarice, avocado and coriander. Almost an instant meal! If you’re not sure about what spices to use, either try @love_my_earth (so easy, wholesome and yum) or head to my blog for my turmeric cauliflower dahl recipe from scratch 💛
