Experiment with these and change up your training a bit and have some fun. . Supersets include pairing two exercises that work the same muscle group and doing them back to back with minimal rest in between. They add serious volume to the muscle and force it to recruit those higher threshold fibers as the muscle fatigues to compensate for the lack of force production after fatigue sets in. For example, pairing bench press with pushups. . Drop sets are one of my favourite ways to train and they include performing a set with a given weight then dropping the weight by 15-50% and immediately performing another set. Usually people do three sets, two drops of weight in total. They are a great way to add some serious volume to a muscle. . 1½ reps are something I've been doing for quite some time on some isolated biceps work and have seen awesome results. They involve performing ½ a rep in between full reps of a movement. For biceps curls for example, I bring the weight all the way up, lower to 90 degrees, bring the weight back up to a full contraction, and lower the weight back down to full extension. That would be one rep. After the search for months and years. Today we bring you … THE BEST STUDIOS FOR MEETING PEOPLE ~ — Having in-studio friends is a great way to stay motivated and it also makes a workout experience that much better (friends who sweat together, stay together … right?). Studio friends are people that have both the same interests AND schedule as you - because you simply wouldn’t have met them there if that weren’t the case! We’ve found that some studios are much easier than others when it comes to finding & clicking with people … So we’ve broken down some of the best studios out there for FINDING FRIENDS. —
⭐️ @DANCEBODY. — So many friendly regulars here (I know I’m solo in this pic, but swear I’ve met some great peeps💁🏼‍♀️👯‍♀️). ⭐️ @TONEHOUSE. — If you dare… trust me when I say you’ll go to hell + back with these people... after a round of gallops they may just become your new bffs. ⭐️ @SOULCYCLE. — Le duh. This place pretty much invented in-studio friends. ⭐️ @305FITNESS. — You’re basically dancing at the club with them anyway … may as well get their number. ⭐️ @FLYWHEELSPORTS. — V friendly studio! Maybe it’s because free fruit puts everyone in a good mood. But even in the barre classes, I’ve had some great chats with my mat neighbors. ⭐️ @SOLIDCORE. — They really encourage teamwork here, so when they say high 5 your neighbor, do it! ⭐️ @SWERVEFITNESS. — You get placed on teams in this class, so it’s very group (+ friend) oriented. ⭐️ @SWITCHPLAYGROUND. — If you get paired with the right person (workout is done in partner sets), there’s definitely an opportunity for friendship (or maybe even a date, who knows!). ⭐️ INSTRUCTOR-BASED CLASSES. — Usually those who frequent classes like Jabs By Gina (@ginadinapolieqx), Sculpt Society (@thesculptsociety), Housework with @sydmiller, @amandaklootsfitness, etc. are SUPER loyal. Hands up if you enjoy your alcohol 🙋🏻‍♀️ When I was on my weight loss journey I went through a stage where I was working out, eating well but not losing weight which was soooo frustrating. 😩 I didn’t 🤷🏻‍♀️ know where I was going wrong. There were weeks I’d lose weight and weeks I wouldn’t lose a gram. I started to notice 🤔the weeks I would go out on the weekends and drink my weight wouldn’t budge. I started to look closely into then calories of alcohol and was shocked at the amount of calories I was consuming in 1 night. I would never of imagined 1 cocktail had almost ½ my daily calories I was on! I quickly changed that and started to have clear shots alcohol or vodka sodas which have an average of only 64 calories per tumbler. The average serve of a cocktail is generally 200 calories and let’s be real who only has 1❓ Definitely not me 🙅🏻‍♀️. You can still go out and enjoy your drinks 🍸 but just get familiar with what your having. For A LOT of people alcohol can be the primary reason to why they’re not seeing results. If you are going out and you know you are going to be drinking ⤴️increase you protein though out that day. ⤵️ Decrease your fats and carbs so you can save some calories for your booz. Stick to vodka / diet soda or a glass of wine which will have the least calories… ∙ A traditional pina colada, composed of rum, pineapple juice and cream of coconut can contain as much as 650 calories. If you do like your cocktails opt for light rum, or substitute unsweetened coconut water for cream of coconut to get more drink for fewer calories. My choice of drink is definitely vodka soda 🍸.
