INTENDED STIMULUS Let's run! This a 5K for non-runners. It is a longer effort but a very manageable one. The distance in the row and the number of rounds of Cindy will allow athletes to move at a very even pace without any significant breaks. Today will be an excellent day to track the time of your rounds and see how well can you pace. The 3 round structure will allow you to start conservatively on the first round, accelerate on the second one, and fight on the last one. This a day in which you want to set up yourself to be able to perform! Athletes capable of doing strict pull-ups and push-ups should modify the number of reps of so that everything can be done unbroken. Athletes using modifications for the movements should use options that allow them to keep the number of reps similar to rx while allowing them to go unbroken. . OPTION 1 3 rounds for time of: 1,000-meter row 6 sets of 3 Strict Pull-Ups 6 Push-Ups 9 Squats . Stand in front of wall with toes 10cm/4in away and lunge ties between 2nd 3rd toes attempting to touch wall with knee. ✅Pass: Knee able to make contact with wall ❌Fail: Inability to touch wall at that distance or compensatory motion from trunk or LE. • 𝗣𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺: ❇️𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟭: Perform wall test but at a distance in which both knee can touch wall and stretch is felt. ❇️𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟮: Place foot on wall to lock out foot and toes into DF. Bend Knee over 2nd/3rd toes ❇️𝗢𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝟯: Apply resistance band across talus (front of ankle) & take up slack & tack down with back foot. Perform wall lunge mobilization • 🎥: All options performed/demonstrated in the videos. 🔑When mobilizing focus on quality of motion and leg position to be precise and avoiding compensation. Incidence, Prevalence, and Impact of Injury and Illness in Runners Preparing for a Half or Full Marathon. ———————————— Link: https://www.jospt.org/doi/abs/10.2519/jospt.2019.8473 ———————————— Scientific Learning: 161 registered paying participants of Utrecht Marathon In Oslo where 9/10 people got injured within a 4 months training period. ———————————— Practical Application in Running: 9/10 runners reported a running related injury or illness symptom in the lead-up to a half (21Km) or full marathon (42Km Run). In any 2-week period, up to 1 in 7 runners reported a new running related injury or illness symptom. ———————————— My Thoughts: 4 months is not enough time frame for our bodies to adapt to the impact. The main key factors in training for a half/full marathon is the distance (adapt with the least impact by walking completing 15,000 steps then progress to a higher impact which is running) , impact (adapt by doing body weight exercises such as squats then progress to gym strengthening then lastly plyometrics) & intensity (gradually start with Zone 1 then lastly Zone 5 highest intensity) then within the medical field the factors are mobility, flexibility, stability, & strength. Generally people train for a full marathon for 6 months but we should at least add a week or 2 as there’s a high chance you’ll miss a session due to weather, busy schedule, etc. My program that I made based on evidence is 26 weeks for 26 miles for a 42Km Run which includes a nutrition/hydration guide, 6 months run program/coaching, run form correction, strength training for injury prevention/treatment. ———————————— Main point: Injuries is very prevalent when training for a 21Km or 42Km Run as you’ll increase your mileage, intensity, & impact damage in your body; how would you counter these factors? By correcting the errors in your running form, nutrition plan to avoid inflammation & maintain a good body weight, progress gradually with a run program for months, consult with a MD (pain reliever medication) & Physical Therapist (recovery & rehabilitative exercises).

We are only as good as what we repeatedly practice!⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ <⁣ Scap CARs⁣⁣⁣⁣ <<⁣ 1/2 Shoulder CARs (Flexion Focus)⁣⁣⁣⁣ <<<⁣ End Range Rotations at Full Extension⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ *Why the slant board? ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ When raising your heels, you’ll need less ankle mobility to get into a maximal squat depth. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ *Why do shoulder mobility at squat depth?⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ Stability assists with mobility, one requires the other when you are trying to isolate a specific area. Adding the extra stability challenge in the core and lower half allows me to really zone in on detailed movement in my shoulders. Rather than pushing out to “brace my stomach” I would cue it as “staying lifted through the spine” or “keeping a long midsection” - thank you Pilates!

I’ve been quiet on here since ANW.. because when I got back from it I found out I was growing a tiny human! ✨ baby Leo will be here in December and we’re so excited! for those of you that don’t know me personally lol we’ll have been married for five years this year (what even, time flies) and have always wanted kids, but every year that passed I’d be like “oh next year” ..for the past 5 years 😂 anyway, I didn’t know the direction to go with this account since finding out (as I’m not doing obstacles/climbing right now) and that’s why I was putting off posting on here about it. Por @pedrotarnowski_personal . 🏃🏽‍♀️Inúmeros estudos têm demonstrado melhoras significativas com a atividade física nos fatores de risco para doenças cardiovasculares, sobrepeso e obesidade. No entanto, que tipo de atividade se torna mais benéfica? . 👨‍🏫Um estudo realizado por Ho ss et al (2012) teve como objetivo investigar se 12 semanas de treino aeróbio, musculação ou exercícios combinados (musculação + aeróbio) induziriam e sustentariam melhoras no perfil de risco cardiovascular, peso e perda de gordura em adultos com sobrepeso e obesidade em comparação com nenhum exercício. . 👥Um total de 64 pessoas com sobrepeso e obesidade foram divididos em quatro grupos: 👉🏾Grupo 1: sem exercício 👉🏾Grupo 2: Exercício Aeróbico Contínuo: 30 minutos na esteira a 60% da FCR. 👉🏾Grupo 3: Musculação:  5 exercícios (4x8-12 repetições a 75%RM) 👉🏾Grupo 4: Treino Combinado: 15 minutos de musculação + 15 minutos de aeróbico. . 🕵🏻‍♂️Os autores concluíram que: todos os treinos melhoraram em relação ao grupo que não realizou nenhuma atividade (o que já era esperado).
