This is the pefrect way to fuel my body. I love meat and salads it's a simple way to eat that makes me feel energised. Some people do ok without red meat I am not one of them. I have been reading a lot about the carnivore way of eating to me it's as extreme as veganism and it doesn't sit right with me to not eat veges just like it doesn't sit right with me not to eat meat. We all have individual needs and I like to look at blood types and body shapes to help individuals determine a way to eat that will suit their unique makeup. I learnt so much from this test yesterday 🤯⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ A patients results came back with so much information it took me most of yesterday to get my head around it. Even the experts at Microba hadn't seen some of the microbes that showed up on this report before. Is it cultural? Societal? A burden we’ve placed on ourselves? An unrealistic expectation of others? ⁣ ⁣ I don’t remember a SINGLE time, as a young girl or teenager, that I dreamt about the future and thought “I can’t wait to run myself into the ground, neglect my needs and take the bottom spot on the totem pole”. The red snapper is seasoned with spices inside and out. It is then cooked in oil seasoned with pimento and scotch bonnet peppers. Next onions, red, green and scotch bonnets peppers, allspice, and carrots are sautéed , then cooked in rice wine vinegar. The dish is usually served with rice and peas. I have seen and made it other ways but the recipe is basically the same. It is well worth trying if you’ve never had it. Would I steer you wrong? Red snapper is a lean protein of which the body needs for blood cell development and to nourish our skin and bones. It also has a good supply of selenium which is needed for proper cell growth and thyroid hormone production. Potassium rich red snapper helps lower blood pressure and maintaining the body’s fluid levels. Lastly, red snapper has vitamin B12 which we need to make chemicals for nerve function. Organic Purple Sweet Potato Chips! Made with Love and Avocado Oil (and a touch of raw sea salt)! 🥑😋 • Purple sweet potatoes are a good source of potassium and fiber, and high in B6, vitamin C, and antioxidants. Additionally, they have a low glycemic index, which is why sweet potatoes (of any variety) are often preferred for diabetic diets.💜 • I used our mandoline slicer to get them nice and thin and placed each one on our 350* F griddle after the avocado oil was hot. Flipped them over when it looked crispy enough and cooked the other side. So yummy! Can also make these in a large pan or in the oven, but since we have a griddle, I used that. It’s talk time. I’ve been injured for over 7 months now, and in the past, I think I would have fainted at the thought. Fainted because I had an unhealthy relationship with fitness and, ironically, health. But times have changed, and personal growth means my attitude has changed, also. The reality is, your body needs ALL of the macro nutrients, and ALL of the micro nutrients to repair, recover, perform and protect. Limiting your intake of food groups or calories when you don’t need to will not help in your health quest. 🤦‍♀️ Some people have asked me time and time again how to get more defined etc. now I’m a qualified PT so I can give you all of th exercise in the world, but the reality is, you have to eat sufficient calories, be consistent and just allow time to work it’s magic. That’s what I’m doing with my injury, and it’s what you can do with your goals.

Friend via text: Hey! What's your go-to salad delivery place? Me: Dude I don't order salads. . 💣Truth bomb! Salads are NOT the ideal health food 💣 Whenever I hear from a new client or member that they "eat really healthy" but still... (not losing weight; still feel exhausted; have crazy periods; any undesirable health situation) - I almost always find that their diets are super veggie heavy, often with a lot of salads. . No, there's nothing wrong with eating a lot of vegetables (some exceptions, but for the most part this isn't the issue). The problem is that for the million and one reasons why veggies are good for us - providing energy and making us full is NOT one of them. I don't know about you, but I'm usually hungrier after finishing a salad than before I started. . Veggies are low calorie, and take a lot of work to digest (especially raw veggies) and we don't actually even absorb all of the calories in them. This sounds GREAT for weight loss, right? Well... the reality is if we don't complement a veggie heavy diet with enough fat, protein and starch we're left starving with more cravings. And then a 4pm cookie bender is inevitable. . Salads are fine sometimes, especially if you like them. But for an ideal nutrient profile to support energy, hormones, gut health and weight management, I prefer cooked vegetables. They are more filling, easier to digest and absorb nutrients - both macro and micro. Just make sure not to cook to death - a light roast, steam or saute so that the veggie holds onto its color and structure is ideal. . What's your favorite cooked vegetable? I'm on team Brussels Sprout.

So much has changed in the last 5 years. I wasn’t always comfortable with my body and my mental state was so much worse. I could hardly talk to people I didn’t know let alone speak/teach in front of strangers! I was super self-conscious about my body and my acne and constantly stuck in my head with lots of negative self talk. We are our own worst critics right?! Fusilli with sage + roasted butternut squash and garlic sauce. With kale and a sprinkling of toasted walnuts. There is a buttery sweetness to this pasta sauce that makes this dish really rich and delicious. I also love the earthy flavor that the fresh sage brings. This dish calls for cream- but I soaked cashews over night to make my own dairy-free cream. And you can grate some Parmesan on top, or add nutritional yeast to the sauce to add some cheesy flavor without the dairy. Ginger. If there was a genuine superfood that’s been revered for centuries and is now proving to be all it was touted to be by modern science, ginger would be up there. Turmeric too. Turns out they’re spice cousins 🥰 But back to ginger. It has so many health-enhancing qualities! Pregnant women should check with their doc before having too much ginger because it has anecdotally been said to increase the risk for a miscarriage though the scientific evidence for that is lacking. Also, Ayurveda, the ancient medical system from India suggests more ginger in the winter months when it’s cooler versus in hot weather as it can be quite warming in the body. While I don’t normally name my eating habits, this food pyramid is pretty close to how I personally eat myself. . I still have to do a more in depth look at what exactly I consume everyday, but for now I saw this pyramid posted by @drmarkhyman and while it isn’t exactly what I eat, it is quite close! . The amounts you need will in my opinion, change based on your weight, activity level, body fat etc…But again this is a very close look at what I consider to be a good balanced diet. . I am not saying this is the end all be all of eating, but it works for me and a good amount of my clients eat close to this. . I think the important take away here, is at the top we have occasional treats and at the bottom we have non-starchy veggies… The in between can change based on the person and how they want to eat, but having those two in check will do wonders at giving you a good base. . I take this approach to eating and move macros around for myself, based on my current goals at the time. . If you notice you get issues eating a good amount of non-starchy veggies, there is likely some underlying gut problems that need to be addressed. . I will give you a closer look at what my meals look like overall, but this is the general scope of things. I have done almost every diet out there…including a keto diet, a vegan diet, IIFYM diet, paleo diet etc… And I came to the conclusion that this works best for me! . How is your eating style?
