One of the bigger mistakes I see with the swing is folks trying to get the kettlebell moving more by overextending at the top of the swing. They arch the back, swing “through” the knees, and often the heels come off the ground (Video 1). This is usually a result of not getting far back enough and getting extra “oomph” into the swing by pushing further forward at the end. - To fix this, wait longer before you bend your hips on the way down, follow the kettlebell back further, and extend the hips quickly (Video 2). The knees should be extending (straightening) as the hips do, otherwise the hip extension gets diluted and you get off balance. - Focus on keeping the feet firmly planted on the ground the whole time. Most of the swing is either you standing or you with the hips all the way back. Getting between these two positions should take as little time as possible. - I should note that my swings are not perfect because it’s a very nuanced movement, But the hips are doing what they’re supposed to be doing, and that‘s the most important thing for me. - #stansellfit #fitness #kettlebellswings #fitnesstips #allinthehips #personaltraining #atlantapersonaltrainer #functionaltraining

I know I do. 💩 ⠀⠀ So let’s begin.. ⠀⠀ 🍏Fiber, also known as roughage, is the indigestible part of plant foods that travels through our digestive system, absorbing water along the way and easing bowel movements. ⠀⠀ 🍌Dietary fiber refers to nutrients in the diet that are not digested by gastrointestinal enzymes but still fulfill an important role. ⠀⠀ 🥦Mostly found in vegetables, fruits, whole grains, and legumes, fiber has a host of health benefits, including reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetes. ⠀⠀ Eating fiber has many health benefits: ❤️Protection against heart disease - according to the University of Maryland Medical Center, the consumption of soluble fiber has been shown to protect against heart disease by reducing cholesterol levels. ⠀⠀ 💩Gastrointestinal health - the consumption of fiber promotes regular bowel movements and prevents constipation. It may also reduce the risk of developing colitis and hemorrhoids. ⠀⠀ ☀️Diabetes - people with diabetes who consume a lot of fiber tend to need less insulin than those whose fiber intake is low. Fiber can help slow the absorption of sugar, helping to prevent spikes after meals. ⠀⠀ 💦Body weight - a high-fiber intake can significantly contribute toward body-weight control. Fiber produces a feeling of fullness without adding calories (fiber calories are not absorbed by the body) - this can help treat or prevent overweight/obesity. ⠀⠀ 🚀Most foods that are high in fiber are also very healthy for other reasons. Try this Skinner Turkey Wrap for lunch tomorrow! [Makes 1 wrap] Ingredients for EACH wrap: 2 large slices of crisp iceberg lettuce 2 very thin slices of cheddar cheese 6 slices deli turkey meat 1 vine tomato, thinly sliced 1 small carrot, peeled then sliced with a peeler 1/4 English cucumber, sliced with a peeler as shown Tahini Sauce ingredients (optional): 1 Tbsp tahini paste a pinch of sea salt and fresh ground black pepper a pinch of garlic powder 1-2 tsp warm water (plus more as needed) Instructions: In a small bowl, add all dressing ingredients and whisk rea to combine. Lay out the iceberg leaves, then layer the remaining ingredients as follows: cheese, tomatoes, cucumbers, turkey, and carrots. Drizzle dressing over then fold the bottom up, the sides in, and roll like a burrito. Slice in half then serve cold. Einmal die Ferse anheben und wieder absetzen. Danach in die V-Position, Ferse anheben und absenken. Wieder zurück in die Ausgangposition und Fersen heben, danach in die A-Position und Fersen anheben und senken und dann wieder in die Ausgangsposition. So lange wiederholen, wie ihr mögt. Great post from @trainwithcarsen ⁠ -⁠ Follow @hack_pt for more weight loss and nutrition tips⁠ -⁠ Low Reps vs High Reps by @trainwithcarsen ⁠ _⁠ ⁠ Both high and low rep ranges should be utilized effectively to produce the greatest overall outcome when it comes to building muscle. ⁠ _⁠ ⁠ To begin, low rep ranges are used to build strength. When it comes to building strength, you are moving heavy weight for lower repetitions. This is how you get stronger. In doing so, you active your type 2 muscle fibers (fast twitch), which are used to generate short bursts of energy. These muscle fibers fire more rapidly than type 1 muscle fibers (slow twitch). Strength is the number 1 factor to any fitness goal in the gym and this is why a low rep range MUST be used.⁠ ⁠ _⁠ ⁠ On the other hand, high repetitions (15+) are optimal for endurance training. Endurance training is the act of withstanding constant repetition under load. Endurance training activates type 1 muscle fibers (slow twitch), which are more efficient at using oxygen to generate continuous fuel (ATP). Training with high reps also works to increase blood flow and lactic acid buildup which is HUGE for muscle growth. This is best accomplished through isolation exercises where you can target one specific muscle group. ⁠ _⁠ ⁠ INCORPORATING BOTH❗️As you can see, both high and low rep ranges play a critical role in building muscle. I recommend 75% of your training come from a lower rep range (>15), and 25% come from a higher rep range (15+).
