Grab yourself a resistance band and give this lower body workout a try. Glutes will be on 🔥 ➡️Glute bridge x15 (band just above knees, squeeze butt towards ceiling pushing knees out against band) ➡️Abductions x20 (sit upright, pulse knees out with small movements) ➡️Squats x20 (push knees out against band to prevent any knee cave) ➡️Jump squats x15 (as above) -Perform the set reps for each exercise then rest 90 seconds. Upper body and intro to weightlifting - 1. 5x3 cleans: I just started learning about cleans, it’s sooo technical compared to powerlifting, I love it. still haven’t figure out the jerk yet (fear and lack of shoulder mobility are holding me back) - 2. 3x8 drill for cleans: Not sure what it’s called, it helps with the transition between pulling the weight up and bringing yourself under the bar! - 3. 3x10 for isolated lat pull downs: isolated movement ensures that both sides are balanced! - 4. 4x12: leg lifts: I added 5lbs for more resistance. I prefer holding up myself up like it to activate stabilizing abs muscles!

🔸WHAT MUSCLES ARE BEING WORKED: RDL VS SDL - Follow 👉 @adviceonfitness Post by 👉 @breitfit - ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📝 Stiff Leg Deadlifts are to the Romanian Deadlift what the front squat is to the back squat: a similar looking sibling with a total different character! Both work the hamstrings, gluteus maximus and the deep spinal erector as main muscles. However there are nuances that one should consider when deciding which one to program: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ➕ The Romanian Deadlift is mostly characterized by its lifting mechanic relying on pushing back and pulling forward the hips which at the core makes this a for- and backwards-movement. RDLs start from a hang position. This lift puts a little more emphasis on the gluteus maximus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ➕ Just like the RDL the Stiff Leg Deadlift also relies on the hip hinge but unlike RDLs the hips stay more in place due to the decreased knee flexion that happens in this lift. SDLs usually start from the floor (which is something I only recommend to experienced lifters) . This leads to a bar path that is further away from the body’s centre of mass thus making this exercise more erector spinae dominant. Its job is to pull the humerus (upper arm bone) down towards the body (extension and adduction), assist in rotating the humerus inward (internal rotation), aid in respiration, and rotate the trunk (when insertion is fixed) to name a few! ⭐️SWIPE LEFT to see some examples of how to STRENGTHEN this muscle! 1️⃣ Pull up 2️⃣ Lat pull down with band 3️⃣ Shoulder extensions with band · The great thing about this muscle is that when you do work it out, you are also engaging A BUNCH of other muscles during your routine which means building more muscle tone! Happy Monday☺️ It’s my favourite day when it comes to getting on track ready for the week ahead, organising my week and challenging myself too! We understand that not everyone has access to gym equipment or can afford a monthly gym membership, and we are huge advocates for fitness for ALL people. This is not for people who are looking forward to lose fat. ✔️ - ➡️ Everybody needs different macros according to their goals, you can adjust these numbers according to your diet and daily routine. ✔️ - ➡️ Post-workout Carbs : You should aim to consume food that are high in glucose. Many people consume banana after their workout. That is an "ok" choice but not the best, because it contains glucose as well as fructose. You don't need fructose after your workout as it is stored in the liver glycogen and not in the muscle glycogen. ✔️ - ➡️ Glucose is what you should aim for. The best choice is white bread. White bread has only glucose in it. ✔️ - ➡️ Post-workout Protein : You should aim for at least 20g of protein after your workout. The best choices of protein right after your workout are whey protein or egg whites. ✔️ - ➡️ Pre-workout Fats : NIL.

Ahh, the age old question: no pain, no gain? 🤔⠀ ⠀ What usually is going on is a mind vs. body battle. General fatigue is normal during a workout. It’s good to push through that DISCOMFORT. 💪⠀ ⠀ However, you need to be careful about pushing through PAIN. Pay attention to what your body is telling you. For example, if your knee is in pain, stop! 🛑 ⠀ ⠀ Straightline instructors want you to feel elated after a workout, not broken down. 😪 It’s about having a QUALITY workout, not quantity. ⠀ ⠀ On the flip side, sometimes your brain can create its own limits and think that it’s tired when something different with the body is really going on. I’ve been trying some new things in the gym lately!! I’m trying to work on my weakest point- AKA doing abs 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 - I am the WORST about scheduling abs for the end of my workout and then either forgetting about it completely, or just opting to skip instead 😂 Abs is one of my least favorite muscle groups to train because it HURTS and I just get so bored with it 😤😤 - Soooo I’m trying a new thing and working on hanging ab raises in between pull-up sets! They are not going very well just yet but I’m working on it 😂😂 I’ve finally got myself to stop swinging when I’m doing it and I feel like that’s the first step 🤣 not doing anything too fancy yet, just knee raises until I can get the hang of it!! I also need to work on my hamstring stretches because NO WAY can I raise my toes all the way to the bar at this point 😂 - What are you guys trying lately to spice up your gym sessions??

🌸 TRICEPS 🌸 This is less of a full workout and more just the staple exercises that I always include in my triceps workouts! - Cable pulldowns are my FAV when it comes to working triceps! There are so many angles you can use to target different parts of the muscles! Also you can just camp out at the cable machine and you don’t have to be constantly switching out weights like you would with dumbbells 😎 - If you don’t train triceps, you should definitely start!!! We are all about that #BALANCED #BODY here 👏🏼🤪

I have to talk so much during the day when discharging patients that I probably drink 2 liters a day 😂😂 that also happens to be very inconvenient when I’m at work because then I have to make time for a bathroom break every 20 mins 🤦🏻‍♀️😂 #thestruggle #smallbladderprobs One of my goals lately has been to drink more water on my off days! I’m the worst about drinking just one cup of coffee and then not having water until like 12pm 🤦🏻‍♀️ so I think I’m going to start drinking 1 whole glass of water BEFORE I have my coffee and hopefully that’ll get my intake up 🥳 - I notice SUCH a difference in my skin when I’m hydrated it’s insane. I do also think that different bodies need different amounts of water, because some of y’all are out here drinking 3 liters a day- if I EVER drank that much in a day I would be SO bloated 😂😂 so I aim for 2 liters 😎 moral of the story— drink as much water as you can and your body will thank you 🤪 ok rant over 😂

💙 LEG DAY 💙 Had and AMAZING leg day the other day using @cristinacapron ankle straps 😩🙌🏼 they’re cute AND efficient 🥳 I also upped my weight a lil bit more on my hip thrusts! 🦋SHOULDERS🦋 Just realized it’s been WAY too long since I’ve posted a shoulder workout so here’s the one I did last week! 😛 I’ve been adding in some chest moves on shoulder day too, I just usually post them separately! 🔹SKYDIVERS🔹 Flip over and balance out all those dead bugs... ▫️▫️▫️ Balance is important both in body and concept and that’s certainly true when it comes to core training. Here’s a quick but challenging move that will help stimulate the opposing musculature to much of the belly up and bear related core work that gets done so often. I love the #bosu for these but I’ll often use a small pad or just the floor works as well. ✖️CORE WORK✖️ - I am THE WORST at remembering to do abs at the end of my workout, so I did it at the beginning this time! You can’t expect to see definition in your core if you aren’t training your abs! 🤪 Here’s what I did! ✖️30 second side plank (right side) ✖️30 second side plank (left side) ✖️oblique side crunches ✖️butt lifts - that’s my name for it anyway 😂 focus on using your lower abs to lift your butt up, try not to use the momentum! ✖️toe touch crunches If you can’t tell by now, I usually just make up the names for the exercises 😂🤷🏻‍♀️ - Let me know if you try this workout!! 🤗 - Top: @paragonfitwear Shorts: @paragonfitwear
