I keep hearing from clients “I’m focusing on cardio to lose belly fat” . There is a common belief that running/ jogging is the best . Good news : this is not true... Any activity you do will help you get rid of your belly fat...swimming, cycling, boxing, boot camp... even weight training does the job . So my advice is to find an activity you enjoy doing... exercising shouldn’t be a punishment . Bad news: Training alone gets you 20 to 30% results... when it comes to this layer of fat around your tummy, diet is more important than the type of exercise.... you should follow a diet plan to maximize results (to be discussed in future posts) . . Do you exercise because you don't like your body? Do you run to burn off that "cheat meal" you had? If so, then you may have found the reason you dont like to excercise! 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️ If I use exercise as punishment for eating unhealthy food or for the way I look, then it wont ever turn into an enjoyable habit 🙃 I came to this conclusion a few months ago while studying for my eating disorders course 📚 And it makes so much sense, I mean, how can a punishment turn into a habit? 😑 Thats just not how our brain works 🧠 This is why I took a break from working out for a few months 💆‍♀️. I needed to heal my relationship with exercise💕. I stayed active🚶‍♀️, did yoga🧘‍♀️, ate well🍉. And now Im slowly going back - this time, I'm exercising to feel good and to take care of myself 😍. I started with a 10 minute run to my favorite songs. No pain and LOTS of gain 😊💕 What about you?
