Building muscle tones your body and gives it more shape! ⁣ ⁣ Building muscle actually takes SOOO much more time to build than you think.. the women that you see that ARE bulky, TRIED to get like that for YEARS & worked hard to get there. ⁣ ⁣ Studies show that muscle responds to adapting after a period of SEVERAL weeks or months of progressive loading at the gym and with diet. ⁣ ⁣ When it comes to trying to gain muscle, gaining about .5 lb every week is really ideal with of course increasing protein & eating a wholesome diet! ⁣ ⁣ There’s much much much more that goes into muscle building but can’t make my caption 17 pages so tried to give some quick info! 🥰 ⁣ ⁣ If you have any QUESTIONS about MUSCLE BUILDING or WEIGHT LOSS feel free to comment or message me directly!! I work out to lose weight⠀ ⠀ Usually ⠀ ⠀ This time losing weight is probably the last goal on my list⠀ ⠀ This time my main goal is a 30 minute break from thinking ⠀ ⠀ This time my main goal my workout is to give me an energy boost after a poor sleep followed by a long day⠀ ⠀ This time is just to give myself 30 minutes to feel good.⠀ ⠀ Exercise isn’t always about losing weight, its also a great medicine for stress && we all know stress doesn’t have days off! So it’s just one tool I use to help at the moment.⠀ ⠀ And at a time when I really can’t be bothered to be around or talk to people I am so grateful that I can press play and just workout from my front room, just following what I’m told to do so I don’t even have to think about it. Holiday season is here! What are you doing health wise, to plan for your holiday parties to stay on track?! ☃️❄️Comment below & check out my tips👇🏼⁣ ⁣ You still have a whole week and a half to lose a pound or 2, to help you feel more comfortable being out and enjoying yourself! ⁣ ⁣ Going into the holiday parties, HAVE A PLAN so you can just enjoy & not feel horrible after! ⁣ ⁣ 1) PLAN TO EAT: Eat beforehand so you aren’t STARVING when you get there & over eat on the wrong stuff ⁣ ⁣ 2) PLAN YOUR DRINK: make your drink low calorie and bring it with you! There are plenty Low sugar low Calorie Christmas drink options! ⁣ ⁣ 3) PLAN TO MAINTAIN: I always tell my clients, during holiday season, the goal is to try and lose a bit beforehand. But, DURING it, the goal is to try and MAINTAIN. Maintaining your weight is work in itself especially around the holidays. It may be unrealistic to lose weight at this time so if you can maintain & then lose more afterwards, that’s a great goal to set ⁣ ⁣ 4) PLAN TO GYM: do what you can with working out! Plan to work out ahead of time that way the days you choose to enjoy parties, you won’t feel guilty for not making it to the gym // it’s always great to burn some extra calories around the holidays 😅⛄️⁣ ⁣ Hope these tips help! ⁣ ❗️My biggest tip is to just PLAN everything. Only way to get through the season without feeling like shit afterwards, with choices you’ve made, in result of not planning ahead! ❗️

HAHAHA who’s with me?! 🙋🏻‍♀️😂⁣ ⁣ Whenever I feel deprived from chocolate or certain foods, I end up binge eating over the weekend! Which in turn ends up cancelling out my whole weeks worth of work! ⁣ ⁣ You’re diet should not make you feel deprived enough to binge!! Do you find it helpful to make small changes in your diet to lose weight or you can do a whole 360 in your diet when you’re ready?! ⁣ ⁣ I find for myself and my clients that a 360 flip of a diet approach is very hard to stick to long term. ⁣ ⁣ 360 type of flip, and other FAD diets out there are not long term results. ⁣ ⁣ In order to lose weight in a HEALTHY long-term way, you need to have balance!! ⁣ ⁣ With balance, you should be losing 1-2 lbs a week! ⁣ ⁣ & when you add that up over 3 months ends up being a lot, and STAYS OFF because you built up healthier HABITS

What have you tried in the past to lose weight? Has it worked? How long has it worked for? Comment below!! ⁣ ⁣ Most diets out there are quick fixes and yes will help you lose weight but will the weight stay off? Are you happy while doing this diet? Do you feel satisfied with what you’re eating? All this is important !! ⁣ ⁣ FAD diets work for short term weight loss. In order to lose weight long term you need to focus on not only being in a CALORIE deficit but also managing STRESS levels, managing SLEEP, eating right, ENJOYING foods you love, finding new RECIPES to enjoy, feeling SATISFIED!! And still LOSE WEIGHT!!⁣ ⁣ Another thing, you do not need to do hours of CARDIO a week to lose fat. Cardio is always great but I’d say definitely add in some weight lifting as well (if you want to) if you prefer cardio, then do that cardio! ⁣ ⁣ Everyone’s different you just have to figure out what’s best for you and works well with YOUR lifestyle!

I've gained loads of new followers on here lately so I thought I'd tell you all a few things about me! I've a godawful fear of flying but it hasn't stopped me from visiting countries all over the world! ✈️ I was a member of the local Toastmasters club for about 3 years. I had my first (and last🙂) child 3 weeks before my 40th birthday. 🙈 I'm double jointed but only in my fingers. 👐 I suffer from anxiety. My favourite colours are any shade of teal, turquoise, or blue. 💙 I have a degree in Software Development. 💻 One of my favourite ways to relax is watching TV in bed while eating tons of chocolate. 🥰 I recently went back to zumba after a long break and I'm loving it. 😍 As much as I try to be on time, (and I do really try, honestly 😅), my friends will tell you that I'm ALWAYS late. ⌚ I am ADDICTED to perfume & have a million perfume bottles scattered throughout the house. 👁️👀 Now tell me a few things about you, do we share any things in common? ☺️

I keep hearing from clients “I’m focusing on cardio to lose belly fat” . There is a common belief that running/ jogging is the best . Good news : this is not true... Any activity you do will help you get rid of your belly fat...swimming, cycling, boxing, boot camp... even weight training does the job . So my advice is to find an activity you enjoy doing... exercising shouldn’t be a punishment . Bad news: Training alone gets you 20 to 30% results... when it comes to this layer of fat around your tummy, diet is more important than the type of exercise.... you should follow a diet plan to maximize results (to be discussed in future posts) . . Gutted with my maintain this week. I’ve stuck to plan and worked really hard at the gym. My boxing class was cancelled yesterday, but I went to spinning instead as there is no excuse to be lazy. I’m working really hard to shift these pounds with good food choices and classes down the gym.
