A story about Julie ….⁣ ⁣ Julie had been trying on and off to lose weight for years. Good moms prioritize their health.⁣ ⁣ I know that opinion isn't always popular, and its definitely cost me a few friendships over the years, but I know it's true.⁣ ⁣ 𝐌𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤. It's constant work. It is so easy to stop caring for yourself or feel too overwhelmed to prioritize your own self-care when there are so many important things demanding your attention.⁣ ⁣ But, when you stop caring for yourself, your ability to care for others around you suffers.⁣ ⁣ 𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟.⁣ ⁣ It's something many women work hard to do throughout their pregnancy but stop once they hear that first baby cry. It's something that has a rippling effect for decades. It costs nothing, but saves society millions. It’s impossible to live your life to the fullest potential when your mind is filled with food thoughts🗯⁣ ⁣ If I still struggled with food from the moment I woke up till the moment I went to bed, I wouldn’t be where I am today.⁣ ⁣ I would just half ass everything I did, because I wouldn’t have the mental and physical energy to do what I wanted to do⁣ ⁣ I realized that I couldn’t give 100% of myself to the very important things in my life when 90% of my thoughts were fixated on food!⁣ ⁣ Ladies, at some point you have to ask yourself this very hard question:⁣ ⁣ 💭What is it costing me to not heal my relationship with food?⁣ ⁣ Are you waking up everyday thinking that today is the day you’re going to ⁣ ⁣ 👉start this diet⁣ 👉start restricting⁣ 👉cut out carbs⁣ 👉cut out dairy ⁣ 👉go sugar free ⁣ 👉only eat low calorie foods - hello boring ass salads ⁣ ⁣ but you keep disappointing yourself in the evening when your “restriction power” is gone, then you’re truly wasting your precious time and energy. ⁣ ⁣ How many more times are you going to repeat and live in this cycle? When I was a stay at home mom my daughter asked me what I did for a living. I said,”I take care of you and your sisters and our dogs and the house and the laundry and cook delicious meals and treats.” She said ya but what do you do other than that? 😂😂🤪. It was then that I began to have a desire to do something that serves others outside of my home. Don’t get me wrong. My stay at home moms, you are truly amazing. Having been on both sides, staying home is so difficult and rewarding. It just got to the point where it wasn’t as much for me anymore. I now feel so blessed to have an integrated life where I can do lots of stay at home mom things while using my heart to serve others as well. I’m feeling the freedom and the happiness.

👩‍🍳 Camp Chef checking in here! 👩‍🍳 Do you know how food makes you feel? . . 🔥 Even whilst camping I was able to eat clean and feed everyone else a delicious clean meal too (which they RAVED about😉) . . I know EXACTLY how food makes me feel. I know which foods make my stomach hurt after I’ve eaten them. I know which foods make me feel accomplished and successful at hosting others. I know which foods make me feel like I’m at a ball game and which make me feel like home. . . Food an be very emotional because we’ve created feelings and memories around it. Typically these days hit us extra hard when we haven’t been filling our own cup so pick one way you can go take care of yourself or heck go take care of someone else so you’re not sitting around wallowing in low vibe energy. ⁣ ⁣⁣ Instead of beating yourself up for feeling this way, reflect on what's coming up for you here and why it may he happening. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧. Easier said than done I know but it’s cricial during times like this to give yourself a break and keep in mind how much you are doing and how care you’ve come. You’re breathing, you have a roof over your head, a phone to read this post. Your body carries you wherever you wish to go. Gives you energy and life.This is the time more than ever to be focusing on some positive language. ⁣ ⁣ Don't let social media distort your views of yourself. Prawn Korma with Coconut Cauliflower Rice This is a recipe from the Fast 800 book, it's really simple to prepare and really yummy! It's supposed to be to feed 4 but if you are not counting calories I'd say it's to feed 2. Ingredients A large head of cauliflower blitzed in the food processor to rice size bits. A tbsp of desicated coconut A tbsp of coconut oil 400g of raw tiger prawns 2 onions chopped 4 cloves of garlic sliced A 2cm piece of ginger chopped A handful of spinach A 400g tin of coconut milk 2 tbsp of full fat Greek yoghurt 2 tbsp of chopped coriander 3 tbsp of Korma paste Salt and pepper For the coconut rice, melt the coconut oil in in a large frying pan, add the cauliflower, coconut and seasoning and cool on a medium heat for 10 to 12 mins stiring often. For the Korma, melt the coconut oil in saucepan and fry the onion, garlic and ginger till soft, add in the coconut milk, bring to the boil and then simmer for 10mins. Blend with a hand blender and return to the heat. Add the prawns and cook gently for 4 mins. My sweet craving has been on a real high this whole week. So, I decided to bake a vanilla keto cake using @swervesweetie baking mix. Prep time is like 5min minutes and after baking for 30min, voila, the cake was ready!!!!! The cake tasted better when it was warm and got a little hard when it became cold. So, I warmed it up w/ a little butter topping for 30secs in the microwave each time before eating. It is a great alternative to the carb-loaded conventional cakes. P.S. : I didn't have a cake pan, so I baked using bread baking pan instead, lol! 3 WAYS to CONQUER your FEAR of WEIGHT GAIN . One common factor with all the women I've coached is their fear of gaining weight. I relate to this, because this used to be one of my biggest fears. I would no joke rest in bed at night and PANIC about how I was gaining weight and that I couldn't stop it. I felt completely out of control. Can you relate? . Here are three ways I teach my Fat Adapted Babes to conquer this fear, and achieve freedom with food. . 1) Stop tracking your food intake. Tracking your food intake is going to increase your obsessive thoughts about food. It's also teaching you to put your trust in a computer, rather than your body. Food tracking more often than not leads to over eating, binge eating, and weight gain. It's going to cause exactly what you're trying to avoid! I see this ALL the freaking time. . 2) Stop weighing yourself. The more you obsess over the number on the scale, the more your weight will fluctuate! When I was weighing myself religiously my weight would fluctuate drastically. Now I probably weigh myself a few times a year, and everytime I weigh myself I'm the same damn size. This is no coincidence! I've also noticed my clients who don't take my advice, and continue to weigh themselves, don't get nearly as good results🤔 . 3) Become Fat Adapted. No matter how recovered I felt, I never completely shook my food fears until I became fat adapted. Why? Because for the first time in my life I was able to eat a lot of food, without gaining FAT. I never felt comfortable eating as much as my body needed, because I would always put on weight, and it wasn't healthy weight..it was a whole lot of fat, and that made me feel like a stranger in my body. I wanted to be able to properly fuel myself AND have a body I loved. Being a Fat Adapted Babe now allows me, and my amazing clients to do this. You can eat super well AND have a body you love. If you’re going to follow any “rules” with your eating - try the 80/20 Rule. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ This is one of the practices I use with my clients to help them achieve food freedom! 💫 ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ The 80/20 Rule is simple and it doesn’t require you to do any calculations or counting. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ The 80% includes most days of your week. This means you are eating the healthiest diet that you enjoy most days of the week. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ The 20% includes the “other” days. This may be holidays, birthdays, weddings, vacations, date night, girls’ night, weekends, sick days, stressful days, sad days, etc. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ The “other” days have to happen. Life has to happen! We are only human, we are not perfect. ⁣Allow yourself those other days. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ Some months, the other days may take up 50% of your time, or 10% or 100%; life is variable. It doesn’t mean that you’re “unhealthy” because you’re going through a stressful time and your eating is affected. It just means that you’re a human being going through a stressful time which is affecting your normal eating routine. And that’s OK! ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ When you think about your eating routine more as a BIG picture and less as a single meal, it makes it easier to give yourself grace on those “other” days. ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ You can’t avoid the 20% - the birthday cake, the holiday eating with friends and family, the summer BBQ, the cruise, the date night with dessert - and why would you want to? ⁣ ⠀⠀⁣ Let those be, and work on choosing healthy habits most days of the week. Focus more on the 80% and worry less about the 20%, friends! ✨

The 2 reasons WHY everyone always asks “Where do you get your protein?” (And my answer) ⤵️⁣ ⁣ Without fail, this is the first question anyone asks when they find out I eat a plant-based diet.⁣ ⁣ It used to frustrate me but now that I get where it’s coming from, it’s a lot easier to answer. ⁣ ⁣ 1️⃣ The standard American diet, makes the center of the meal an animal protein. We even refer to that component of the plate as the “protein”. So we are used to thinking that animal products are the only sources of protein.⁣ ⁣ 💣The truth: proteins are just 1 of the 3 macronutrients found in some combination in all foods, including plants. They are composed of chains of amino acids that are found in all plant foods. ⁣ ⁣ 💥So, there is protein hiding in all whole plant foods.💥⁣ ⁣ As long as we eat enough calories from a variety of plant sources (vegetables, fruits, whole grains, legumes, etc), we will be getting plenty of protein to be perfectly healthy!⁣ ⁣ 2️⃣ Trendy diet culture has vilified the other 2 macros (carbs and fats) so badly that protein is the only “good guy” left! So, we must be concerned about a shit ton of it on a daily basis. ⁣ ⁣ 💣The truth: our bodies NEED carbs and healthy fats just as much as they need protein. If we want to feel energized, mentally clear, and digestively regular, then we need to include enough of each of these macros as well. ⁣ ⁣ 💥A balanced ratio is going to do our body the most good without depriving it of the nutrients it really needs. 💥⁣ ⁣ So where do I get my protein, you ask? From plants!
