🏋️‍♀️Curl and Press - 2 in 1 🏋️‍♀️ — 👉🏼Looking for a new exercise to add into your workouts? Implement this one into your next routine for an awesome sweat and burn🔽 — 💪🏼With two dumbbells in your hand, perform a standard bicep curl. When you reach the top of the movement, pronate your wrists (function of the bicep as well as elbow flexion) so that you are now in a position to shoulder press. Today’s workout! Warm up: 1 round of all exercises with 8lb weights Workout - 4 circuits: 5x25lb clean to shoulder press 4x25lb hammer curls 5x25lb sumo squat to upright row 5 diamond push-ups 12 opposite leg toe touch (each side) Not pictured: 5k run I read recently that studies have found that you build more muscle if you work each muscle group frequently rather than working it to exhaustion only once a week. So I’m switching things up and trying out six 30-minute strength sessions per week that use compound movements to hit as many muscle groups as possible each time. This will also help with the fact that my days are starting earlier in the spring! I’m also working on bumping up my cardio a bit by adding a second day of running back into my routine. Basically I’m trying to maximize my efficiency, which means cranking up the intensity and doing short, frequent workouts instead of the 75-minute marathons I was doing (and enjoying!) this fall. Ok fitfam, here’s your Thursday FULL BODY circuit < < < < < < I wanted to show the versatility of these moves regardless of the equipment you have... plates, dumbbells, kettle bells—they all work! My motto is ALWAYS that any movement is a success, so don’t let yourself make excuses if you don’t have weights. Your body will feel the work anyways!! < < < < < < Because I was focused on filming these moves quickly with basically no rest in between, I used a lighter weight than I normally would. Single Leg RDL with Resistance Band Hinging on two feet can be a hard enough skill to learn...Now we gotta do it on one leg?!? Using a band for external feedback and a fixed post to help with balance can help groove this movement. The band gives us a little assistance pushing the hip back into a hinged position and provides resistance for the hips to push into as the hips hinge forward. Use a post in the front or side to provide a little support as needed. It’s important that you’re keeping your chest square and not opening up your hips to the side of the plant leg. I am not a fan of isolation exercises that only use one muscle at a time. However as with my previous video you can get more bang for your buck by combining exercises. In this case you do the exercises all at one time. As a runner I use most of my time running but do not want to neglect strength training. Buy using combination exercises you can get more work done in a short time. I came up with this upper body combination. Seems like every day between Thanksgiving and New Years is either spent indulging in an abundance of food and alcohol or traveling. Holiday parties, vacations, family visiting from out of town....it never ends. Following a routine in the gym day after day becomes tough. Could be in a hotel gym with limited equipment or only get to the gym once or twice a week.
