Client Chris smashing out some glider work. This time we have combined an alternate knee to elbow lift and a plank jack. A great core, lower back and leg exercise. These movements can also be performed using just the bodyweight. Adding the gliders to the exercise adds more resistance, essentially making it a lot harder to perform. If you have a set of gliders or have access to them, give this one a go and let me know how you get on with it! 💪🏻🔥

I’ve been getting upside down A LOT lately. It’s definitely not a comfortable or natural place for me to be, but I’ve been practicing almost daily using different variations to help me get to a point where it feels like second nature. ⁣ ⁣ Why?? ⁣ ⁣ Headstands are amazing for ⁣ ⚡️ Building a balanced and super-strong core.⁣ ⚡️Strengthening your hip flexors, hamstrings, and spinal muscles.⁣ ⚡️ Strengthening your shoulders and arms.⁣ Just to make a few! ⁣ ⁣ Right now my goal is to handstand walk 10ft unassisted (I’m currently at 5ft) and maintain a 10 second freestanding handstand hold. ⁣ ⁣ Any training tips, send them my way please 🙏 ⁣ ⁣ 📸 @amp.studios

It makes most sense to train the one thing you want to work on at the start of your workout 👌 Reason being, you will have the most amount of energy, muscles will not be fatigued and you will have the most concentration, allowing you to work on your technique and make bigger improvements 😁💯 - Then there is the flip side of the coin. Going in deep and repairing some more broken, or misaligned circuits in the #myofacial system this morning😊. - - In the beginning, I didn’t understand what those pains were, and now I know for a fact that those pains are just connections that were broken at some point, and not aligned properly while #healing . - - When I finally clued in after years of #dailypractice that as i slowly ripped those bad connections apart on a daily basis, I was able to move past that connection, into a whole new system of connections and #movement . The #rangeofmotion is only limited by our own self #misunderstanding . - - I never thought I would be able to do the things I’m doing now. A #handstandpress definitely was not a goal in the beginning, but as I became more flexible, I was able to start pushing from new positions. - - I often get asked how I became strong enough and what exercises I did to become able to do the things I’m doing now. What do I do when I have a “bad” handstand session? I accept it and either cut my session short or I work on easier drills that I know I can do. I used to beat myself up if I had a bad handstand day but it’s just part of the process. I also realized I do this for FUN and I’m in zero rush to reach my goals 😁 Plus the “bad” days make me mentally strong. Sometimes a bad day has no correlation with your energy levels or your level of “fitness” - they just happen. Moral of the story - accept them and keep pushing 🤸🏼‍♀️
