I don’t cook separate meals at night — if I’m cooking, I’m making one dinner. Here are some ways I try to make dinner healthier without my family revolting. I’ve been thinking a lot about my way of planning my workouts. For me, having a visual representation of what is on the docket for the day is incredibly helpful. It sets me up for success day in and day out. I allow myself the rest days as I need them but overall, I’ve been very on point following the schedule I set up for myself and the results are starting to show. Pants are looser, clothes fit better and I allllllmost fit in a pair of jeans that didn’t even go over my hips a few weeks ago 🥺 . . . What helps you plan your week out? Do you use a planner or your phone? If you have any suggestions/motivators let me know ☺️

🥊🥊Mama said knock you out!! 🥊🥊 . . . I never understood the whole workout progam thing. Wouldn't you just wanna burn calories, or just lift weights? I didn't understand the importance of having a plan, a tracker or calendar to follow. An action plan of attack. . . When my knee blew out I had to turn to the workout DVD circuit & it drove me carzy. There was no 'result' just a lot of boredom, & maybe some calories burned. big deal! I could do that by going for a walk. . . So when I began #BOD my whole perspective was turned upside down. I found a program, printed off the calendar & followed it. On Monday I did day 1 and so forth - HELLO RESULTS. That very first program I lost 4 inches off my waist. Since that day I have completed mulitple programs from start to finish, repeated many of them as they were that good. There is a goal. Better Push ups, deeper squats, a firmer waistline, guns for arms, lose a couple pounds... and I found the more I stuck to the tracker, calendar the better my results got! I wasn't just out to burn some calories, I was out to lift my 45 yr old droopy 🍑, get some shape to my arms, firm up my mid section, improve digestion, keep my mental health in check too! #NEVERMISSAMONDAY 💃🏻 . . Y’all the past week has been really hard for me. I got violently ill with the flu & not only that but pneumonia to boot! 😳 I spent hours in the hospital, had a million tests taken, slept on and off for 5 whole days, ate like an asshole, and just straight up wasn’t treating myself well but I’ll admit a lot of the reason for that was due to literally not even being able to get out of bed for longer than 10 minutes. 🙄 . . HOWEVER... . . Today is Monday. It is the start of a brand new week. A brand new chance to be better than you were yesterday. A new chance to succeed. A new chance to be grateful. A new chance to be HAPPY. 🙏🏻♥️ . . I’m finally feeling like myself again (minus this cough that my doctor says will stick with me for between 2-6 weeks — some wins & some losses, can’t ALL be wins all the time!🤷🏻‍♀️) & with that being so, I pressed play on my workout today — Week 4 / Day 1 of @barreblendworkout! Technically I’m supposed to be starting week 6 today but since I got sick, I gave myself some grace & brought it back down to week 4 to regain my strength & some self confidence. 💃🏻🙏🏻 . . That’s really what it’s all about you guys. Figuring out what works for you and DOING 👏🏻 The 👏🏻 Damn 👏🏻 THING! 👏🏻 It’s all about what makes you feel good, what motivates you, what inspires you. This is the face of a girl who, after discovering this morning that she had finally made it to the other side of her weeks-long plateau and has lost another 2 lbs (which means she’s down a total of 26.5 lbs), also just discovered that she finally weighs less than she did before she got pregnant - with either child!! Add to that her BMI is lower than it has been prior to either pregnancy and she’s finally in the “low-risk” obesity category after being dangerously close to “high-risk”... this is somewhere she hasn’t been in over FIVE YEARS and it’s all thanks to @barreblendworkout, @morningmeltdown100, @beachbody, @shakeology and @ritahorter. If I can jump around my living room for 30 mins, why can’t you? . . I was away for the weekend so my workouts didn’t happen, my nutrition was off and water consumption almost nil. Today I had lost my mojo and after a very poor nights sleep the thought of doing a workout was quite simply the last things I wanted to do especially as it was cardio day!! . . I battled with myself and eventually thought f**k it, get it done. I got my leggings, couldn’t be bothered to find a gym top or trainers and went for it!! . . I jumped around my living room with the grace of a baby elephant and did moves I wouldn’t have attempted at the gym (aforesaid baby elephant can be dangerous for members of the public 😂😂). . . When it was finished I had my mojo back, made a healthy chicken stir fry for dinner (which even the teenager said was tasty 😱) and drank all my water. . . If I’d had to go out to the gym for a class I would not have gone! That’s what I love about these programmes you can do them whenever, wherever, in whatever gear you want! It’s so simple it works!! . . I love both of these women. The girl on the left was going through things in life that, at the time, thought was going to break her. But at the same time, those things were only making her stronger and who she is today, the woman on the right. February 2019 ➡️ February 2020. There is a lot about this woman that you know, but there is also a lot you do not and I am hoping I can in some way help and inspire others who also may be dealing some sort of inner demons. I have struggled with my body image and weight my entire life. I have found my passion and made it my MISSION to help others on their health and fitness journey but also help them become the best and healthiest versions of themselves all while loving themselves along the way. Negative self talk and doubt is a very scary and dangerous rabbit hole. Instead of being ashamed of how I have felt about myself and my yo-yo dieting since my 20’s I have embraced it because, well, it’s a part of me and I know I have battled what I have because it CAN help others. We all have to find our happy. My happy was learning to take out my struggles and thoughts on the pavement with my running and finding my balance working out from literally anywhere with my virtual gym and fit family – that saved me. It also has finally gotten me to a healthier place, not just physically but mentally. There’s way more than just 17 lbs that separates these two photos from this past year. It goes so much deeper than that. I am surrounded by so much love and support but once you start loving yourself a little more, that’s truly when things fall into place. I am thankful for where I was, where I am now and grateful for where I am heading. I know I am meant to serve a purpose. Don’t ever let anyone dull your sparkle. Do not ever let anyone make you feel bad about yourself and where you are right now (read that again). Crossed over to the dark side and bought a high waisted bikini that I actually LIKE?! Question. Why do we wear things that we aren’t comfortable in? Maybe that’s just me. Get the size up in your jeans. Wear the swimsuit you’re comfortable in. I think we try so hard to go with the trends and look like everyone else and sometimes we just want to feel BEST wearing things that we are comfortable and confident in. A year ago, a bit of weight gain really bothered me. It colored every aspect of everything I did and I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t obsessed. I would feel uncomfortable in clothes, want to go out less, and just feel miserable. This year, I’m noticing and observing it. I’m honestly (without judgment) reflecting on whether my overeating was purely emotional - and what those emotions were so I can better spot them in the future. I know I tried my best this season & also really enjoyed myself so have no regrets😊 I’m practicing loads of self care, self love and losing the weight slowly and sustainably - I enjoyed loads of yummy vegan food on my trip away! This is Elise Joan, our newest Super Trainer and creator of Barre Blend. And this is her true before and after from her very OWN program. But it’s more than what you think. The picture on the left was taken the DAY she got the call from Beachbody. After multiple rounds of IVF, only to discover that she will never conceive a child in her lifetime, she has said she was battling a deep depression and the lowest self-esteem of her life. Her mission became crystal clear after receiving that call. She now had a platform to create something that will help people ELEVATE their wellness, their self-esteem and their LIVES. Insane results, yes, but more importantly, something that will remind you of your worth, your power and how limitless you ARE! I start Monday and quite a few amazing ladies are joining me.
