Changing my workouts slightly because between the kids having me running around like a chicken with my head cut off, all of the projects at home I’m trying to get finished, & doggy sitting, I’m trying to get as much gym in as I can where I can. So I’ve been adding to my #fastedcardio in the morning. Every 0.2miles on full incline on treadmill I step off and move to the weight room for whatever I’m working that day. 10 reps of #Squats, #deadlifts, #rows, #manmakers whatever. I aim for everyday to do 10x10 because by the time I’m done running around I’m not getting to do my actual workout in until 1800 if at all. Back on home turf means back to the early AM routine, and man does it feel good 💪🏼 We ate and drank all the things this past week, and nope not one regret! Everything we consumed was soooo delicious. I mean, come on southern food & hospitality 🤗 YOLO and who knows when we will get back down there, so down the gullet it went 😂 Today is a new day, so back on track we go right where we left off and that’s all that matters. This is a lifestyle not a diet and you’re not going to undo all your hard work in 1 week. . It’s crazy, almost 4 years now that I have been living this healthier lifestyle and the human body still continues to amaze me. I mean, it’s blatantly obvious that our bodies thrive so much better with a daily routine and schedule. You have more energy, you’re more focused, everything moves along more smoothly 😉 and you just all around feel so much better. It’s just cool to see that difference, ya know! Today we got our asses handed to us during our workout, the struggle was real 🥵 {ain’t nobody want to see that 😆} but we pushed through and now we feel 💯 times better. Tip of the day: #progressoverperfection Nobody is perfect. You fall off, it’s all good. It happens to us all, just get your 🍑 right back on!

I had intended to include my final two warmup sets in yesterday’s post but neglected to do so. These are #partialsquats to a 24” box, first with 200 kg / 440 lb for 5 reps and then with 230 kg / 507 lb for 3 submaximal reps. The key point is that in each case I am trying to move the weight as quickly as possible for every rep to achieve the maximum training effect. PUSH UP REFRESHER Push ups are one of the most versatile exercises there are, and they require only your body weight. Here’s a quick review on how to do them correctly and a couple examples of common mistakes The first 5 reps are a full, correct push. My body is straight and I’m holding my core right. My arms are at approximately a 45 degree angle to my sides and I’m performing the movement through what I define as a full range of motion. That means the chest touches the floor before you push back up The next 5 reps show a common error in hand and shoulder positioning. The hands are placed far too wide and the elbows are coming much close to being perpendicular to the body. When this happens, there’s a ton of stress on the shoulders and it can lead to impingement. So, unless your goal is shoulder pain, don’t do your push ups this way. Finally, the last set shows correct positioning but a shortened range of motion. People often do this unknowingly or purposely in an attempt to complete more reps. Shortening the range on any movement makes it less effective and less beneficial. Your always better off performing an exercise through a full range, even if that means reducing the weight or reps. Do you have to spend an hour or more on your workout for it to be beneficial.. Who thinks this???? That was me, before I learned, I was wrong Even though hour-long workouts never got easier the more I did them, they’re what I thought I HAD to do every single day to get results!! (**no WONDER I struggled to stay on track!) Fitting in long daily workouts around kids being home for the summer was stressing me out!  I dreaded the pressure I put on myself to stay strict... and the temptation to get lazy with my nutrition was REAL. 🥒🍔🥦🥞 I am a summer ice cream junkie!!! Then I heard about the newest fitness challenge that’s coming out... (strategic workouts designed to kick off your day and accomplish a lot in a short amount of time)... and I’m like YES PLEASE. ❤️ Why?? ✌️ I can fit it in before kids and summer activities kick in! ✌️ A LIVE DJ will get us IN THE MOMENT and CONNECTS us to the workout in a whole new way! ✌️Professional recipes that are DELICIOUS and designed to kick cravings! (...even my picky husband asks for leftovers!!)* Once I’m out of bed (**and I'm doing something COMPLETELY for ME), there’s something magical (...and a little weird) about that glorious morning stillness before everyone else is awake.  I can make that time my OWN. I know you may not believe me... I’m SO stoked to have a summer workout plan that doesn’t feel like a long, sweaty chore every single day! Vargo Log - Strength Block, Week 2, Day 1: Again felt kinda beat up after two days off 🤷‍♂️. Didn’t do anything terribly stressful, so I have no idea. I have a feeling that some bad food choices may have something to do with it. I also think I may be a bit dehydrated. But that aside, got thought my squats without much hassle, and hit some easy presses to follow. Beginning to enjoy the rows - just trying to work up the volume slowly to get nature my lower back can recover enough to not interfere with my deadlifts. Looking forward to regularly squatting over 400 again. . . . #foundation . . . Took about 4 days off because Why not. Hit some 5x3 on squats at 315, superset dips and barbell rows. Used a 45 on the bench dips AMRAP, 4x8 on barbell bent over rows at 175. Finished her off with skull crushers and curls superset and hanging leg raise(no video). Sitting at 200 pounds today. Yes I was rolling forward, yes I was grunting.
