Today’s Step-By-Step Workout The workout today is a full upper body session, which if you stick to the breaks will really push you. All you need for equipment is a couple of therabands and a door handle. *Please be careful attaching the bands to a door handle. Check it is securely attached and you are pulling at the angles I am, not face on! Incase you miss any of the subtitles the session consists of: 1. Low Row + Bent Over Flys 4 sets x 10 reps / 30 secs rest 2. Single Arm Lat Pull + Plyo Push Ups 4 sets x 10 reps / 30 secs rest 3. Pullup is king👑 when it comes to back exercises. . Although there is a different sort of pullup bar that latches onto your doorway and might is safer I find this bar sufficient enough. . Simply don't pull from the side that loosens the bar and if you want to do a chin up turn around and pull yourself up like you would regularly. . What's also great about thia home pull up bar is that you can do all kinds of exercises with it if you have bands. . You can basically mimic whatever the cable machine does with your home pull up bar and a few bands. . What I also like about this pull up bar is that you can place it lower in the doorway and do a whole other set of exercises like body weight rows, dips and others! . So I've already talked about what you could buy foe your home gym, and really you don't have to invest a lot, but I'll mention it again here - a yoga mat, a few bands of varrying widths and a pullup bar (advanced or beginner). . Even when we go back to normal it's still a good idea to have a few of these at home so you keep active whenever 👍 . Have a great day everyone💪 . I have honestly been soooo busy with school, so I did this upperbody workout this morning, but it would take too much time to film all the exercises. I did record the best one tho 😇 It only requires a resistance band and you’re good to go. Do the exercise slow and controlled, and if you can hold for 2-3 seconds. I did 4 sets of 15 reps, but every resistance band is different, so I would recommend to just do the exercise until failure. STOP doing only pushing exercises, you need to balance your workouts and thus you need to be able to do pulling exercises as well. If you cant visit the gym and have no equipment then dont worry i got your back 😎 . All you need is a regular sized towel and your good to go 🤩 . Here are 5 exercise you can do anywhere & anytime 🏋🏻‍♂️ . 1. Bent Over Rows Try and sit on your knees (can also do it while standing , just keep your knees bent) back straight, neck in a neutral position, squeeze your scapula when you pull the towel towards you. . 2. Lying Lat Pull Down Grip the towel wider than your shoulder width grip, pull towards your chest and drive the elbow towards you, while squeezing your scapula. . 3. Reverse Snow Angel Lift your chest off the floor, keeping your arms as stretched as possible, rotate your hands so that your palms are facing the roof. . 4. Superman Simultaneously lift your arms and legs off the floor, only your abdomen should be touching the floor. . 5. Back Widow Drive your elbows into the floor and raise your upper back, squeeze and hold each rep for 1-2 seconds. . WORKOUT OF THE DAY! For today’s session you will be completing a HIIT workout. For this each exercises will be completed for 40 seconds work, followed by 20 seconds rest. Repeat this 3 times before moving onto the next exercise. There is no extended break between exercises. Part 2. As previous feed part 1,we saw that there is reduced disc space at L4-5 disc space with posterior osteophyte and end plate changes. That suggested chronic disc prolapse process. So we ordered Flexion and extension lateral views. That will show any abnormal mobility in spine. Normal individual won't show any translatory or forward and backward movement of vertebra or any compression or distraction in disc space. Degenerated disc shows compression and distraction on flexion and extension views. Chronic degenerative changes in disc causes instability and thereby facets are overloaded leading to translatory movements in vertebrae. Fig 1. Flexion view shows compression of L4-L5 disc space. Sign of degeneration. Fig 2. Extension shows disc space opening up. This means that disc degeneration hasn't overloaded facet joints yet. ⚡️At-home back exercises⚡️ - As I expressed the other day being at home can make it really tough to strengthen the back because of limited equipment or not enough load. But that doesn’t mean we just don’t train the back and do every pushup challenge sent our way. It means we need to be a little creative. These are some fairly challenging back and posterior shoulder exercises you should be able to do from the goodness of your own home. While at home it is super important to be creative with your training in order to make exercises a little harder. Add 15-30 holds, slow down reps, or do 1.5 reps to fatigue the muscle more. Also, think about what you choose as weights. Find things that are relatively similar in weight like wine bottles, books, children, idk find something. The weigh something…start lifting them. Take these as a solid foundation of back exercises while stuck at home for another 30 days. Questions? Drop them below! @smith.julian Messing around with a new variation today! - We were trying to find a way to do a seal row where you could spread the grips apart, similar to a rope attachment. This is not the most ideal situation, but it gives you a close grip on the stretch and a wider grip on the full contraction. Obviously not AS much range of motion as if you had a rope attachment but the two handles worked pretty well. I’ll keep working on it! - Are you following the Daily Pump? This exercise is part of the workout that I'll be posting tomorrow on the site. Link in bio - Dumbbell Seal Row- Controlled negatives with explosive positives. - Form tip: On the negative portion of the rep allow the dumbbell to travel down and in front of your chest. On the positive portion of the rep contract towards your lower rib area. A great way to achieve a better mind muscle connection during back movements is to imagine pulling back with your elbows, not with your hands. Getting bored of bodyweight exercises yet? Well let's do some isolation exercises during this isolation! For chest isolations, press the palms of your hands together and flex your chest muscles at around 70% of you strength and try and hold for about 7 seconds! And then for back isolations, you will link you fingers of both hands together and then pull both hands against each other while flexing your back muscles! Good mornings continue to be one of my favorite exercises. I always do a few heavy singles, dubs or trips after squatting. Early on I always did good mornings using a straight bar. ARMS ⚡️BACK⚡️ABS . Doing upper body EMOM today 🙌 I loveeed this format before for lower body but it really helped me push my upper body and challenge myself more! . Remember an EMOM is Every Minute On the Minute . Set a timer for 1 minute, do the reps indicates for the exercise, rest for the remainder of the minute, and move on! Quick quick quick 👏 . 🔁 Repeat x5 (35min total) . 1️⃣ Tricep kickback pulses 10 reps each arm ➡️ Around the worlds 10 reps total . 2️⃣ T row 6-8 reps each side (keep your core tight!) . 3️⃣ Dumbbell reverse flies 12 reps OR face pulls 15 reps (if you have bands) focus on bringing your shoulder blades together . 4️⃣ Bent over alternating rows 15 reps each side . 5️⃣ Hammer curl 👉external rotation👉upright row = 1 rep (10 reps total) . 6️⃣ Low plank hip dips 20 reps each side (you better be focusing on your core and belly button so hard!!) . 7️⃣ High plank walk overs 15 reps each side . Feeling weak in your lower back? 😔 Then this set is exactly what you need! 😃 Go slow and try each exercise for 1-2 minutes. _______ Many low back muscles are important for developing core control, protecting the spine, and preventing injury. Here are some muscles I am focusing on in this set: 🔸️ Latissimus dorsi - yep, the biggest muscle in your back originates from your thoracolumbar fascia (low back). 🔹️ Obliques - not just an abdominal muscle, these wrap around to your lower back. 🔸️ Serratus posterior inferior - controls lower ribs during exhalation. Make sure you exhale into the rotation for twisting exercises to activate this muscle. 🔹️ Erector spinae - a group of long muscles that extend your spine (bend it back). 🔸️ Multifidus - deep spinal stabilizer. 🔹️ Quadratus lumborum - for side bending. _______ Go see a picture of these muscles in my stories!! 🧐 Hope you enjoyed this impromptu anatomy lesson. _______ _______

Q&A BACK : “How do I take my bicep out of doing most of the work?” . “How do I engage my rhomboids/mid back?” . This video solves both problems: . You want to limit elbow movement as possible - find a position where your elbow is slightly bent and hold that position - don’t extend your elbow. You can stretch your back without stretching your arm. Try it! .
