When keyboard jockeys go on a tirade about how bad keto and fasting is for the adrenals...I’m alway curious about their coffee ☕️ consumption 🤷🏽‍♂️ If you haven’t been privy to one of their rants/comments, it usually goes something like this: Ray Pete said keto and fasting heavily relies upon cortisol and adrenaline metabolism in order to be effective. So if you eat low-carb and/or fast you’re just trashing your adrenal glands and so you might was well just quit keto now while you’re glands are still functioning. By God’s grace many people and myself are somehow still alive after doing keto and fasting for the last five years… Anyhow, lets all help these altruistic health promoters make a bigger impact on the well-being of people’s cortisol metabolism and adrenal health and urge them to re-focus their efforts towards coffee shops; the purveyors of caffeine (which unequivocally stimulates the sympathetic nervous system in a major way). Who’s with me? P.S. What the Ray Pete followers don’t realize is carbohydrates, not protein or fat, actually amplify the sympathetic nervous system more. As some of you know, I bought myself a water rowing machine. I'm trying to get my body on better shape, overall, and rowing is one of the BEST low impact, full body, workouts. I'm horribly out of shape, and my goal the first week was to hop on daily, for 5 minutes. Due to underlying medical conditions, aerobic exercise is really hard for me, so lasting 5 minutes is definitely a realistic goal for me, heh. Anyways, it's day 4 or 5 I think, and here's a peek of my improvement just from yesterday! I've been working on my form and breathing, and just powering the my moments of tiredness. While the TIME I lasted was the same, 7 minutes, the DISTANCE and number of STROKES I did today was more! Basically, I went faster, and farther today, in the same amount of time. That's a win for me, I'll take it!!. . Btw - loving my water rower!!! There are 3 main types out there, water may not be the right one for you. (I made a makeshift cannoli tube by using foil, it’s that easy!) I wrapped the wrap around, held on to the seams with tongs, and fried them in olive oil, took them out while hot, and rolled them in a cinnamon and sugar free granular mixture, let cool. I dipped the tips in melted dark chocolate chips and placed them in the freezer for 10 minutes until ready to be filled. . . Filling: 30 oz Ricotta. 1 cup granular Swerve (adjust to taste). Half a bag of dark chocolate chips. 1 tsp vanilla. Sprits of lemon juice . Mixed it all together, and fill the cannoli shells with a piping bag. Decided to try Keto Bagels today but I didn't have any cream cheese which all recipes called for so I subbed butter. I think they still tasted pretty good 🥯🥯 . Ingredients: 1.5 cups almond flour 2.5 cups mozzarella cheese 3Tbs butter 2 eggs 1tsp Baking Powder . Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 400° 2. Beat eggs & set aside 3. Combine almond flour & baking powder in a bowl & set aside. 4. Microwave in 30 second intervals the mozzarella cheese and butter and mix well. 5. Add almond flour, baking powder, and eggs to the melted cheese. 6. Make 6 bagels then top with whatever seasoning you want, I made everything bagels. 7. Find something you love or enjoy, that is keto or low carb or whatever lifestyle you choose, and it will help you keep on track! I do NOT suffer on keto (except when I want dairy, that’s another story). I LOVE steak! So I am more than happy to eat leftovers from yesterday. Still delicious and worth it! I have to stay on track till at least Friday! I have some goals (aka fitting into a dress 🙄) I need to accomplish by Friday. Figure out what works for you! Set long term AND short term goals! What are mine? Long term - to continue maintaining my weight and enjoy life doing it! Short term - fit into that damn dress by Friday lol! You’ve got this!!! There are no failures, jsut roadbumps or hiccups. Take it one day at a time. Figure out what you can control. If you need to, get back to basics! Change it up if you are stuck! Ask for help! KETO MAC & CHEESE using @almondlovewith 🔥 . The creamiest. cheesiest. tastiest. . You’re going to want to try this folks! . Here is the recipe: . 1. Boil @almondlovewith pasta - we soak for 5-7 minutes then boil for 15-20 for a softer pasta. . 2. While the pasta is boiling, in a sauce pan, add 1/2 cup of heavy cream on medium heat and stir using a whisk untill it starts to simmer. Add some ground pepper to taste. . 3. Once the heavy cream is simmering gradually add your favorite cheese or cheeses. We used about 2/3 cup of mixed cheeses (sharp cheddar, mild cheddar, Parmesan) but you can use whatever cheese and however much cheese you want. . 4. Continue to whisk until you get a light thick sauce. Taste test to check for salt and add more if you need to (usually the cheese adds enough salt, but you do you). . 5. When the pasta is boiled, strain, and add the boiled pasta to the sauce and continue to stir on low to medium fire up until the sauce is creamy and incorporated into the pasta (about 2-5 min). . 6. Serve or pack for meals throughout the week. We packed some in @mealpreponfleek containers. For an extra kick you can add some smoked paprika, or for some heat, you can add red chili flakes.
