I got tons of messages after Thanksgiving asking for AB Workouts that would help target the different areas of the stomach so I made this quick video and added it to the ABS Fit Life workout library (link in bio @ashleydrummonds ) to give you a total AB workout that should take you less than 10 minutes. -You will need 1 dumbbell for the last exercise in this video, but other than that the rest of the exercises can be performed with just body weight. -The rep total equals 300 total reps. Do you have trouble straightening your back? ___ A great deal of people have a hard time getting their back straight aka into extension. ___ While there can be a multitude of reasons why this happens, regardless it can be fixed for the most part. ___ Performing exercises that promote extension is one of the most optimal ways to fix your posture. ___ With that being said, you want to be careful as you perform extension exercises and try to keep your back straight the whole time. ___ A great exercise to help force a straight back is the staggered leg rows. Followed by 3x10 of clean pulls. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is a sneak preview from my 2020 ‘The Legend’ Program. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This is actually the heaviest I’ve lifted in the past 2 years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I don’t always go heavy, but when I do, it’s sumo stance. Progressing a movement properly is necessary for long term success. If you try to progress a movement before you’ve truly mastered it, you’ll likely set yourself up for an injury 😵 Conversely, once you’ve gained proficiency at a given exercise, you need to progress it appropriately to continue to adapt. For example, if you’re doing the same 3-5 ab exercises for the same number of reps in every session, your abs aren’t going to get any stronger. I see so many people perform 3x10 on the same exact exercises using the same exact weight week after week 🧐Those people often wonder why they don’t feel themselves improving. Here’s an example of ✌🏻separate ab exercises that build off of one another. The first one is a hanging bent knee raise. In the second movement, I straighten my legs which effectively makes the movement more challenging by creating a longer lever. If you find yourself sticking to the same handful of exercises all of the time, maybe it’s time to progress that movement and change up the stimulus 🔀

HOW TO AB-ROLL FOR A STRONGER CORE‼️ - Save this post for your next core workout! - Life becomes much easier with a strong core! In fact you use it almost all of the time when you’re active, and when it comes to lifting itself, it’s often a weak core that mess up with your result so strengthen that up should be a priority! - However the ab-rollout is a very hard exercise and as you can see in the video is that the most common mistake is that you arch with your lower-back and lose the connection with your ab-muscles or using momentum and taking the movement with your hips instead! This often happens when you go too far forward than your strenght can handle! . Instead, Start off with doing a “posterior pelvic tilt” (like an afraid dog having his tail between the legs) and go only as far as you can while maintaining this position! If you’re a beginner then you need to start off with a very short roll-out and gradually increase the movement as you become stronger and stronger. Don’t rush it! Have patient and you’ll see how fast you’ll progress 💪 . I’m finally getting better ab cuts! The biggest difference? Since I find abs boring, I’ve been doing them in between sets and at the end of some workouts. I’ve done a lot of V-ups in between sets using the bench. Hanging toes to bar when it’s nearby. Always go for lower ab work like decline crunches.. . I’ve been only doing the exercises I don’t mind. That’s key to doing anything at all. The extra volume made a difference since I hardly worked abs. Of course, keep in mind no abs will show if your nutrition isn’t dialed in! . Just dropping some TRUTH BOMBS for ya this Monday 💣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ IF you didn’t know— each arm weighs about 6.5% of your total body weight. THAT MEANS that each of mine are about 9LBS. I mean sheessshhhh 🥵 No wonder trying to add these 2lb weights and do about 1000 reps with my arms held out to the side feels like I’m going to DIE 💀🤣 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But in all seriousness... I LOVEEEEE that burn these 2lb weights bring. After doing the first 5 workouts of my new barre program I’m going to be starting in January {us coaches had access to the first 10 as a little preview 👀} I am OBSESSEDDDDD. Posterior pelvic tilt is a movement of the pelvis initiated by the glutes and abs that works to tuck your tailbone under/tilt the pubic bone up - it’s important to have an awareness of it for everyday movements, but also for correct technique in certain sports/exercises. • Follow on from the last post @jasonciccotosto is demoing some basic(ish😬) movements of where it comes in👌🏼 • What you need this movement for can be very simple summed up in two 🔑 functions: • 1️⃣Spinal/trunk flexion - like normal bending over or a sit up using the abs instead of the hip flexors 🙅🏻‍♂️ 2️⃣ Resisting lumbar extension - like heavy overhead lifting or finishing your deadlift correctly to keep your back safe/make your glutes work harder🍑 • More on how you can apply it, and be better at stuff coming up 💁🏻‍♀️

6 PACK ABS @alperenozekgym If you enjoy my content, make sure to follow me, for daily fitness content 😁. - Most of us know that to have visible abs, you need to be lean enough for them to show. Swipe left for a good visual on this by @nattyknowledge. However, if you want your abs to be impressive when you do get lean enough, you should make sure you train them adequately just like any other muscle group. - Typically, the lower abs are the most difficult to obtain. I believe this is due to two factors. The first is that lower ab exercises are more challenging. Lower ab exercises are naturally weighted since they require you to bring the weight of your lower half towards you. The second factor is that lower abs tend to lose fat later than your upper abs causing them to be the last ones to show. - The upper abs are the easiest to target. Any crunching motion should do. As for obliques, they are hit with twisting motions. If you incorporate an exercise from each column throughout the week, you’ll be hitting all areas of your abs. Happy rainy Monday morning if you’re living in the tropics 🌴. Now that race season is over for the year, just working on staying in shape and having fun working out! And trying to be injured free for the remainder of the year 😂. I’m trying to be more conscious of linking movement together - not just trying to get my chin over the bar during a pull up but feel all the muscles in my back, core and shoulders that make it happen. ✨ BEGINNER ABS & TIPS ✨ • I get a lot of questions on here about “how to get abs” or “how to get rid of lower belly fat / love handles” & so on. Well I’m here to tell yaaaa sista theres no magic exercise to make you have abs or to get rid of your stomach fat because you, repeat after me, CANT 👏🏼 SPOT 👏🏼 REDUCE 👏🏼 FAT 👏🏼. The only way you lose weight is being in a caloric deficit (consuming less calories than you’re burning each day) and your body loses fat first wherever you store it first and so for example that’s why you can’t keep fat in your 🍑 and lose it in your 💪🏼!! Okay let’s get into this post ⤵️ • 🤗 leg lift variation x10. *Notice how I start with my back arched, that’s a big NO. You constantly want to have your back on the ground and contracting your core will help protect it! Also, your legs don’t need to go to the ground each time, go as low as you can and as soon as you feel your back lifting up, raise your legs back up. How far down you can go all comes down to core strength which will come with time! 🤗 crunches x15 *Notice how my chin is tucked the whole time! This will help prevent any neck strain. When you’re crunching make sure that you’re contracting your core. 🤗 toe touches x12 *Notice how my chin is tucked again to prevent neck pain. Also notice how I had to take a slight break, that’s 100% OK! 🤗 side plank twist x10 *This is a little bit more challenging BUT it’s important to have your core tight the entire time to help with balance! 🤗 high / wide plank hops x10 *Keep core tight to help with balance!! • I hope you guys learned something from this post and you’ll use these tips the next time you train abs! Just remember: there’s no ~magic~ exercise to get rid of fat OR to make you have abs. Are you doing any anti-rotational core work? . You should be. . There are huge demands in sport / exercise and every day life to resist rotational forces and maintain a stable spine. It’s also a very important training element to bulletproof your low back. . ✅ Exercise name in vid: Wide stance anti-rotation chop. . ✅ How it’s done. 📝Set a rope up (about nipple height) on a cable machine. . 📝 Wide stance, abs braced, glutes squeezed, soft knees. . 📝 Pull the rope across your body with outside arm and Press away with the inside arm. Keep your hips square as you do this (resist rotation). . 📝 Return to straight arm position and repeat for 8-10 reps x3 (each side) . This will have your core on fire 🔥and it’s doing a world of GOOD for your body at the same time (unlike lame exercises like sit-ups) 👌 . I loooooove those oblique/side lines being visible on abs. If you do to, SAVE this workout for next time you’re ready for a workout! ❤️ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Working out just makes me so happy. When I don’t feel like going to the gym I keep the visual of the result I’m trying to get in mind and I suddenly feel excited about going. Remember to always keep your goal in mind, it’ll help you stay motivated and push harder💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ There are 3 oblique exercises and I recommend doing 20 reps on each side.
